If they want the title they have to beat us Brian, a draw or a loss is no good to them.

But that wont stop them parking up Debs and hope to hit us on a break or set piece

FA will announce Ramires result tomorrow but the rumor I saw on twitter said 4 game ban expected.

So no Ramires, likely no Cech, maybe no Terry (although I think he'll play) and Hazard a question but I'll bet he's playing.

      Keep going .... ;D

Really?  Surprised you say that Luke, I've not watched any La Liga apart from when Suso or Ilori have been playing but everybody's been going on about how brilliant Costa's been and the goals he's scored I'd expected them to be playing a bit like we have.

Not in the slightest Debs. I haven't watched them an awful lot but Simeone really does seem to be quite defensive in nature. Whenever a big game comes along they've not been winning them by more than 1 goal. They've had the odd freak result but as you know some of the teams in Spain really are just there to make up the numbers.

Have a look, their results are here:

      http://www.soccernews.com/teams/atletico-madrid/

I'd say the only impressive result they've had this calendar year is the 4-1 against Milan.

True with the set pieces but I think we're pretty good against counter attacking sides.  It's those who press us high up that we get in a piddle with defensively.  If they want to park up they'd best bring tents because they won't be leaving their 18yrd box  ;)

Maureen must know he cant win the league now. Playing Hazard is madness. They need a goal on Wednesday and they have no goal scorers.

Cech is out, Ramires 99% certain banned.

I think Terry will probably be forced to play. Hazard is 50/50, really hope he is missing!

We'll win but it'll be dirty and tough.  Probably the toughest game of the season, but there's been a few of those of late, and thats the way it'll continue to the end of the season and the next.  There was a time when stopping Liverpool was considered to be the great prize amongst other teams.  We could well be returning to that again.

Someone above mentioned set pieces, Brian I think, and it's a great point. We'll have to be on it 100% when defending set pieces and aware not to give away needless fouls.

I can see it being another 3-2 sort of game with us flying out of the blocks to try and get the early lead and unsettle them.

Petr Cech's season is over, says Mourinho. So is John Terry's unless they reach the final. Bad news for Chelsea after 0-0 draw in Madrid.

Maybe. Though I really see him looking to tighten up and deny space particularly for Coutinho. Lampard could be the one?

I think he might trust Lampard a bit more than Mikel Bri.

well theres no doubt that Lampard and Terry are his most trusted allies but has Lamaprd the legs to sit back and nullify us then break at pace when they get the ball and do it for and hour or 75 minutes?

I know Chelsea need a result but I see them setting up to deny us, particularly deny us a an early goal and momentum. I think they'll plan to bore the kop to silence and give no space to Raheem and co then nick it with a freekick/corner. The nullifying us in the midfield is the only reason Id see him going with Mikel

@OllieHolt22: Mourinho hinting in press conference he will play weakened team against Liverpool on Sunday.

@OllieHolt22: Mourinho complaining bitterly that Chelsea have to play Liverpool on Sunday, not Friday or Saturday, ahead of second leg

@OllieHolt22: In press conference yesterday, Mourinho was still banging on about 'the goal that wasn't a goal' in 2005 CL semi

      And so the circus begins
