If You Could Only Listen To One Song
      Apr 25, 2014 11:23:20 pm
As the title says if you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

The Stone Roses - This is the One (audio only)

Did it take you long to think of what it would be mate?

Not at all mate! It's just perfect for me. The melody, the lyrics, the music, deeply melancholic. Defines what I love most in a song.

You heard the Noel Gallagher cover mate?

      Same for me.

Someone asked me this question about five years ago and the song that came not my head was The Roses - This Is The One.

Thought about it again just tonight and same song came into my head.

I think your first instinct is right on this question no matter how many songs, bands and artist you like.

From the Teenage Cancer Trust? Yeah, that's fantastic. He does great justice to it.

      Same for me.

Yeah, like yourself it was my first instinct. My second thought was The Unforgettable Fire by U2 but it's not always a song that I will put on at any moment in time like There Is A Light. That said, when I am in the mood that song is just magical. The bands that had a hold over you when growing up are definitely the ones that I always go back to when answering questions like these, even though I wasn't born when either songs were released!

Absolutely love this song mate, it's brilliant. My uncle introduced me to them a while ago, this is their best song IMO.

As for my own song of choice... wait... I have to think a little bit.

I just can't make up my mind... I usually say Spanish Bombs is the best song ever, but it is beautiful in its message, not on a personal level - there are many other songs that touch me in a more personal way. The truth is having only one song to listen to would be awful :D

      The Clash - Spanish Bombs

That's not my definitive answer yet... still thinking :D

I reckon if you keep thinking about it Mouse one song will keep coming back.

That's how it was for me when I've been asked this question a couple of times. I'll be honest though and say that I'm not sure if the song I picked is the best song I've even heard or may favourite but ever time I've thought about this it's the one that keeps coming back.

Before my time, but somehow I've managed to accumulate a lot of memories to this song, both good and bad but all worth remembering.
