Cracking deal that add on the Assaidi fee onto Suarez and we still have £95M to play with. Where are you Marco...........

Sunderland have agreed a fee with Liverpool for Fabio Borini. The deal will be worth up to £14m if Borini can agree personal terms.

14 million? Fair enough, take that and run.

Run......I will carry him there barefoot

I like the lad, but for 14M we should be selling and replacing him with better....

      £14m?  are they insane?

      F***ing hell.

So Borini costs more than Coutinho?

I suppose that puts Lallana's fee more into perspective, if that is the going rate.

That's a great deal for us in fairness thought we would get £10 million max for him. Didn't work out for Fabio here but I have no doubt he will become a decent goal scorer down the line.

Me too, but 14M is more than fair.  If you figure 14M for Borini + 6M for Assaidi, we have paid for Lallana with 2 players who didn't even feature for us last season!!

At this stage of his career he needs regular football and him being 3rd or 4th choice with us is not going to do his career any good so best deal for all parties.

Same, but for 14m, he's not worth the risk of keeping when he can go at that price. Certainly do think he'll do well for a mid-table side where he can get time.

14mill would be a great price to get for him.  Would take the cash pronto and reinvest.

Personally would of liked to have seen him given a chance this season
      BUT
14 million is great and if that is added to our kitty we presently have and from other sales then surely we have to be looking at getting in at least 3 really good top players.

Question is that leaves us with Studge and Lambert...so figure Remy is already done.

But on top of this, I have a feeling this is the opening for the "name"

      We shall see.

14m is actually hard to believe. I think we have to do it if that's the true amount.

My worry though is that the penny pinchers will see 14m for Borini, 8m for Remy and be thankful to throw the other 6m in "reserves" and not use it to strengthen the squad NOW.

If you have no doubt about that then why don't we keep him?

He is not ready yet and needs regular playing time to realise his goal scoring potential which he won't get here playing third fiddle. He will score goals for Sunderland playing regularly that I have no doubt about.

I'd like to see him given a chance with us but for £14mill, well that could be too good to turn down providing we re-invested that money properly.

Borini out, Remy in? Wouldn't be a bad trade that.

On a personal level I've always liked Borini but I'm not sure he's ready for us, or if he'll ever be. I'd be more comfortable with Remy as a squad option, especially considering that Sturridge tends to miss quite a few games due to injury.

With Aspas gone and Borini exiting as well it looks like we will be down to Sturridge and Lambert. It looks like Remy is a target and that would give us three. Not sure if Rodgers fancies playing one or two strikers at a time or if he will mix it up. But if one goes down injured we are down to two strikers. Interesting to see if we will go another striker apart from Remy.
