But we knew Suarez was leaving before we signed him?
We would still need a plan B against park the bus teams even if we´d signed a Sanchez.

Expected more from Rickie myself but given a limited game-time hes done a reasonable job. And they are gonna park F***ing double deckers against fresh Liverpool in this time of season, watch this space.

We signed Lambert before the World Cup. The Barca train didn't pick up steam until Suarez bit a human being for the third time (that we know of!)

      Dunno mate

When did he sign that new deal? September?

      I'd guess we knew then

Lets be honest he wont be at LFC next season as he's not prolific or mobile enough. Best hope is we can get Villa to come and take him for 4mil. he got to complete  his life goal and will be happy with that, unless he plans on calling it a day after next season there's no reason to stay and rot on the bench unless he's happy to get paid a decent wage and be in his home town. it all comes down to the player and what he wants but moving has cost him england place and regular football

It saddens me that a good Liverpool lad is unable to make the grade at Anfield even as a sub. The blame has to lie with our transfer committee and not with Rickie Lambert, let's face it he has not set the football world alight at his previous clubs.

Get your facts straight mate. He´s been on a run since 2005 with Rochdale.28 goals from 64 appearances.51 from 128 with Bristol Rovers and then 106 from 207.That last stat with Southampton is better than a goal every 2 games. He was their top scorer for 4 seasons straight. If that´s not setting a club alight I don´t know what is.

I´ll agree with you that we should not have signed him.But because he doesn´t fit our style of play and he was set to be a bit-part player. That goalscoring run of a decade dried up when he became a sub at his boyhood club.I am sure, though, that had we played him instead of the embarrasment that is Balotelli we would have gotten more goals out of him.Not as many as with Soton though. The man is too honest for his own good, followed his heart.

This man is the definition of a working-class hero. The antithesis of Mario Balotelli (#"because I´m rich")I want so badly for him to succeed here, but he has everything against him.For his own good he should have stayed at Southampton.Yet he even snubbed Aston Villa in the winter to stay here. Big up for Rickie.

Spent 2.5 hours waiting at Melwood today and he was the only player who stopped to sign autographs and get pictures taken with the kids.

True gentleman - he may not have had the best of times on the pitch but I'm delighted he got to wear the Liver Bird this season.

Thank you and good luck Rickie - whether it's with us or someone else I wish you the very best of luck next season.

total respect for him chosing his love for the club over game time, but i think he would be best moving on as i think he's got a good season or two left in him at the prem level and could get a team 10+ goals if playing.

still think we could get 3-4 mil for him if we give him a bit of shop window time from now till end of the season

The signing of Big Rick baffles me, they signed him and have refused to give him a chance all season.

I can see that he doesnt fit in with the fast type of pressing play we done last season, however he was purchased as a different option and we have struggled badly this season.

at some point during the season it would of made sense to play him and play football that suits his style when he is on the pitch.

I feel for the lad in some ways as he is a lifelong fan and give up alot to have a chance to play for us, however id kill to be in his position as another lifelong fan (yes i can sit on the bench, warm up and then come on for injury time)

I dont see the point (other than trying to give him some memories) of him playing in the final few games as it looks like he wont be here next season. we should be playing our strongest team and going for wins regardless.

Maybe he will stay, never know.

I don't think both him and Balo will leave. Borini is already on road out and so is aspas. ao perhaps room in squad for him.

its whether he wants to leave and play every week, it was his dream to come back to LFC.

I think they should both leave - but we don't have a good record of being able to move players on

If they don't want to go but it will be difficult.

Rickie only has 1 year on his contract, he would get a mid table premier league team easy, but balo is another story.

Sadly I can see rickie leaving b4 balo

Good luck.  £4M and you got 12 starts.

Think you got a bit of a shafting myself but let's see what happens at West Brom.

More prolific for us than Sterling was anyway last season.
