It's impossible not to feel happy for Rickie and the fact his boyhood dream has come true against all odds.

Great first interview and you can see the guy is still in complete shock and awe at what is happening! Obviously it's a great story, a bit of a fairy tale rags to riches football story. There are quite a few sceptics but I think this could turn out to be a very clever signing. Everyone knows our squad is very thin and if we're going to truly compete on several fronts next season we will need more quality all over the pitch. I think Brendan has bigger plans for Rickie than simply playing the odd cup game or as a late option in games when we're struggling. It's tempting to view Lambert in the  same mould as Andy Carroll but they are very different players, Lambert has far more guile and subtlety to his game and he has shown he can play in a side who play football the right way in a fluent system at saints. I think he will do well I really do.

A lot is made out how he is a plan B option or only good in the air. Ive seen people question why let Carroll go only to sign Lambert.
