There's really no excuse whatsoever for  a player carrying ANY extra weight.

      Jan Molby doesn't like this.   :f_wah: :thumbsdown2:

Didn't think he looked overweight when he came on against Palace myself.

I really would be intrigued in seeing how Can does as a CB next to Sakho or Lovren. He's played there a few times for his ex club and country.

He will no doubt be dropped for the next match by Rodgers!

He played well against Madrid and got dropped.  Probably to be expected.

I know he played a lot of positions in a pinch at Leverkusen, but I still think his best position is going to be at DM.  He's strong, fast, has an eye for a tackle, and has shown he can make runs going forward.  He won't be able to move forward very often if he's a CB.

playing him as a CB is a waste in my opinion.  But we've got The Undroppable Stevie currently at DM so Can won't get a chance unfortunately.

Move Gerrard forward and put Can in at DM - simples really.

I am a fan of Lucas, but Can is a better all round player - especially going forward and that's what we need.

Hes capable of playing the ball out of defence unlike Touré so its not a complete waste I think as we did see against Burnley.

Along with his physical abilities he also looks to be a very sound technical player and we definetly lack those in the squad.

Thing is, we have better attacking players than Gerrard. Lallana, Sterling & Coutinho.

My formation would have had Lallana & Sterling alongside Studge up top with Couthino or Gerrard behind in a diamond.

Plays behind the striker - one of our best players
Plays as a box to box midfielder - one of our best players
Plays as a defensive midfielder - one of our best players
Plays as a centre back - one of our best players

This lad is our best signing of the summer, in terms of age and quality.

Needs to improve his ability to dynamically change direction, but he's got a fantastic pass on him. Great physicality and composure, easily the best of our 3 central defenders tonight.

Not sure where his best position will turn out, but there was a young lad called Gerrard that seemed to be able to play any position, class gives you that ability. Not saying he's the next Gerrard but his future is going to be exciting to watch.

      Well in Emre.

      Well in Emre.

I agree with this. Needs to work on his agility. Still not sure on his short passing game and was very surprised to see how composed he was on the ball tonight.

This kid has to play. Playing time will only make him better and better and he's got a high ceiling.

Already got an eye for a pass ala Stevie and has the physicality and toughness to go along. Great game playing somewhat out of position. Love that versatility and hope to see him included from here on out.

Fast becoming my favourite LFC player after Raheem.

Cos Stevie is a legend so he doesnt count.

Great player this lad - I have high hopes for him...

I don't think he will be a CB for long and will move forward into a DM position - but the way he powers forward he is going to cause teams real problems. Especially with his passing ability (last night a 60 yard cross field ball to feet was one of a few).

The biggest criticisms of Can are that he needs to improve his fitness, agility and quickness -- things that will come with more Premier League minutes, so those will all be fixed in time.

Other than that, he is BOSS. One of our best players in every game he's played, very versatile, and is still just 20 years old. Damn good footballer.
