      :(

An injury this early in his LFC career can really affect his performances throughout the whole season.

Hopefully he'll come back and hit form straight away; if not, it's much harder for a player to find a place in the team when everyone's has been playing and training for a while and he's quite far behind the rest in terms of fitness and game time.

I was expecting him to go straight into the starting XI so I'm gutted.

It's great when we get to see a new player in action for us so I understand the upset. Thing is, it may be a slight injury and there is simply no good reason to rush him back for marketing matches in the states. Best let him recover and I'm sure he'll slot right in when the season starts.

Might actually be a blessing in disguise as there will be less pressure on the boss and team to integrate so many big buy signings in all at the same time.
Not saying is an ideal scenario but not as devastating as some would reckon in my opinion

Forgotten Adam, i can see his injury helping him and us, the pressure is off and everyone will not expect too much from him as he will be coming back from injury. I hope he can swoop in and finish where he left off for the saints, still excited about him and feel he can chip in with a fair amount of goals this season.

Depending the severity of his injury, he could still be a ways off.

Oh oh, for some reason assumed he'd be nearly fit for the City game. Quite naive of me to be fair.

Apparently he's not going to be rushed back.
      3-4 weeks.

      This.

If we don't get a new striker/forward, I would love to see Lallana tried out as a partner for Sturridge if we play 2 up front!

I watched lallan at great length last season. He will find his way into the squad like Lovren. People are so focused on replacing others they forget players will create competition for progression from both the new boys and the previous season....Lallana will bring creativity to us hands down. Just watch.

I see him as a potential replacement for Gerrard. He ain't young anymore but he is true leader, and we need someone like him.

Think he would have made a huge difference yesterday.
