Then I have to question the medical staff.... why would they allow this to happen? having a couple of fractured ribs takes weeks to recover?

Whilst I don't know what the sports medical consensus on the matter is, from my experience, whilst it isn't comfortable*, one can fairly easily play with broken ribs. My GP also said it was fine for me to play football. Exception is if one has a breathing condition like asthma, where apparently it is too risky.
Natch, this does depend on where the break is, how many ribs, and how severely they are broken.

Also, I'm coming round to the idea that we didn't actually overpay for him... We've got a great player tied down for his prime years, and his game doesn't rely on physical attributes (though he does have an excellent work rate)

Not surprised he looked gassed out, he works so hard throughout the game!

If Joe Allen sits near Lallana, Lallana should get up. There's no way we want Allen's nothingness creeping into Lallana. Hope he continues to be positive and believes in himself.

Him, Coutinho and Sterling as a front three offers more movements than the lone strikers we play.

All three are somewhat technical in the game and skilful.

Yea, he's starting to settle in, link up play starting to improve. Do like his little 'back to the defender drag the ball through the legs and past him' moves (am sure there's a name for it) and the way he can make space. Was a big enough fee at the time signed, but if he keeps going the way he is, that won't weigh as heavy on him.

Creates less goal scoring chances than Downing this season. Hoping theres a buy-back clause in Stewarts contract so we get rid of this sicknote Lallana asap. Another ADAM, we should have known better with signing such a name.

I have been critical of the lad and thought he should be bringing more to the table, seems to have turned a corner.

A bit biased as I was hopeful we'd sign him in the summer. Seems to be getting better every match. He's a smart footballer that doesn't have to be constantly running to have an impact on the game as was shown against Swansea.

Lallana is absolute class. Such a tidy, good player. I genuinely believe he's going to have a massive, positive impact for us in 2015.

You could also say he deserves that bit of luck for the sheer determination to run 40 yards to close the keeper down.
