Especially when the new signings that come off the bench look as good as the ones who started.

The signings seem to effortlessly fit in to our style of play (baring lambert maybe, no dig at him) which is what is the difference between us and Tottenham, our signings will only allow Rodgers tactics and play to prosper.

Spot on mate, said the same in the match thread, it's been a long time since I've been so convinced that we can change a game with the bench and it feels good. Let's f***in ave it! ;D

As well as that I think we now have the capability to close games off with our possible substitutions.

I thought they were a lot better than the last two times we played against them. However, they still weren't good enough.

Still hilarious though. Their fans are already giving up on Pochettino it appears!

I didn't, we should have and could have put 7 or 8 past them. They looked clueless and I loved it. They're nothing but a small Club!

I think this thread was started by a paid shill. no LFC supporters ever thought we would "do a Spurs" because we all know how different the situations and clubs are. this thread is a joke and doesn't belong on a quality LFC board like this.

I think that's a little bit harsh to be honest.

Great debating point nonetheless. Not forgetting who started the "Are Everton better than us" thread :D

Okay, I've made some misjudgements, but all have ended up being well debated on these boards ;)

The topic of discussion made sense and just because we beat them doesn't mean players will gel and there's no chance will do a tottenham, come on.

I think That we will not do a Tottenham and I have explained why in previous posts but the comparison in losing our best player and signing many players was there to see.

;D, fickle fans, absolutely fickle. spud fans are massively gobby when they're winning and turn on their team as soon as they lose. no class, no loyalty and no spirit. glad we battered them yesterday and we should have had 6.

on topic, heard a good bit of analysis from a journo about tottenham vs liverpool's spending "spree" after selling their best prized posessions. the summary of the analysis was that tottenham had a scattergun approach to the transfer market, snapping up a mish-mash of players just because they were available, where as we had a very concentrated and targeted approach to our transfer targets. we identified our weaknesses, identified potential players to fulfil those gaps and in almost every case, got them. aside from sanchez, we got our main targets. looking at the depth in squad, it's clear we won't do a tottenham (imho). BR is also a much, much better gaffer than the ginger one.

Here's a good bit of analysis supporting the view. bit out of date but still valid

Looking at our squad, yes it does very much look like we are doing a tottenham but only until January. In Brendan we trust.

No recognised striker knocking them in.
      A sh*te defence.

In Brendans words "We bulked up in the summer"

      Says everything really.

Indeed. Not going to get carried away by the QPR game - we were truly appalling!

I have never witnessed such a poor defence from us before. Sure, our forwards are struggling to score, but imagine putting our forwards up against our defence.

You could say that we have one of the worst defences in the league, especially when you consider the trouble qpr gave us.

      Paulinho - Can
      Soldado - Balotelli
      Eriksen - Lallana
      Lamela - Markovic

Now all we need is to only drop a few points compared to last season and we're sorted.
      80 points compared to 84.

How many would take us "Doing a Spurs" now?

I'd take us doing a Moyes now on Win Ratio just to get the first step back on the ladder.
