Pre-season 2014-15: Brøndby IF v Liverpool FC 16 Jul 2014, KO: 17:00

Liverpool kick off their 2014-15 pre-season fixture list with a friendly against Brondby in Denmark.

Forming part of the opposition's 50th anniversary celebrations, the clash with Daniel Agger's former team takes place at the Brondby Stadion at 5pm BST.

The two sides have crossed swords on just three previous occasions, with the most recent competitive meeting a UEFA Cup tie 19 years ago.

Last night ended the World Cup (congrats Germany, I knew you could do it ), which made me very happy for one reason only, it meant that in less than 3 days I get to watch my beloved Liverpool again. So can't wait till Wednesday and a month from then, WE GO AGAIN.

Nice to see the guys out again and pre-season always allows you to get a lot at players we don't see a much of.

Should be a decent warm-up this, especially if Agger gets to start.

Be nice to see McLaughlin, Illori, Kelly, Suso, Teixera, Ibe Rossiter Sinclair and Robinson get good runs

Not sure why not they've had nearly as much time off as everyone else!

Don't think many of the younger lads like McLaughlin, Rossiter or Sinclair will go Brian, they've not been training at Melwood but we should see the others you've mentioned.

Agger started his senior career at Brondby no? I'd be VERY surprised if he didn't start this game, subbed later on so he could enjoy what I'm sure would be a warm reception.

Going to be a fun day for Agger.  Does Molby live in Denmark?  Maybe he'll be at the game too.  Would be a nice touch.

Poulsen on the other hand can stay home.

Anyway down to business, one thing I would like to see tomorrow is Enrique put in a really good performance.  I honestly think he is vastly underrated and is more than capable of being our starting LB both in CL and the league.  We can't have a superstar in every position and I think Enrique is more than worthy of the starting spot.  He may have the class that Fabio had, and he may not offer a lot going forward but, most importantly, he gets the job done on the defensive end. 

Considering the issues we've got with the Moreno deal etc, I'd love for Enrique to do well this pre-season and put some doubt into the transfer committee's minds as to whether we really do need to spend big at LB.  We could put that money to use elsewhere if Enrique shows he's fit and ready to step up.

Flano, Skrtel, Mclaughlin, Ilori on the bench, probably the back four in the second half. I wonder if any other youngsters will get a run like Brad Smith, Jack Robinson too of course.

Teixeira, Lucas, Rossiter, Brannigan, Pete rson (he is cool) I assume might be on the bench too.. probably forgetting one or two. Would be awesome to see Jack Dunn and Peterson have an impact.

Looking forward to this game, a chance to see a few players who we haven't seen too often before and a chance for a few to start to stake their claim for a place in the squad.

I expect it will be a half pace game with a lot of subs , but no reason that we can't get the season off to a good start with a convincing win.

Happy to see Kelly in the squad I really rated him before his injury.
