In his 1st game he looked a confident, direct, dribble+beat+shoot type player running from deep.

It looks like his confidence has gone. New language, league, team-mates AND a very disjointed team around him.

Its a huge ask of Markovich.
Anyone remember Ronaldo at 19? Even past then, he was a one trick pony.

He was awful last night, no two ways about it.  Doesn't mean he won't come good, just means he was woeful last night.

Can't help think he is being used in the incorrect way, hence limiting his effectiveness. From what I have seen of him, I think he would be better behind a front two, almost like a triangle, with midfielder playing deeper behind him.

He'll come good, let him settle a bit. It's silly writing him off.

Is anyone writing him off? I think people are just noting that he's not been as advertised yet.

Big word there is YET....he'll come good.

No, they're not writing him off, he's done nothing to make me think anything fundamental is wrong either, other than not shooting once or twice when space opened up.
       New league, manager and home.

The whole team have been quite erratic.

Hard to be judgmental in the circumstances.

Plays today which is a huge vote of confidence from the boss given how poor he was midweek. Just needs to play with a bit more belief I think, from the left side would be handy too. I'm convinced that'll open the pitch out for his dribbling more.

He will either be the weak link in our attack today or he will excel, come on lad!

      Unfortunately the latter.

He could have shot a couple of times and chose not too, I think he needs to up his strength a bit too.

Surely you mean the former, was poor again imo.

Forget the price tag the lad needs bringing out of the starting 11 and allowed time to adapt to his surroundings. For the life of me couldn't see why he'd start over Suso if you look at the midweek match. Add Coutinho to the mix who was rested Tuesday, and it was the only name I questioned ore kick off.

Has done nothing to suggest he should be starting, makes more sense for him to build up his confidence, adapting to our style through the cup games.

He looks completely out of his depth.

Which is something I pointed out a little while ago. I also pointed out that he, Sterling and Lallana on the pitch at the same time unbalances the team, which it did.

He needs to go on loan by the looks of things.

Because Brendan will not play a player out of principle. If he doesn't like that player on a personal term, like Reina and Agger, then he'll drop him without any hesitation.

Suso has done nothing wrong as a footballer since he has been here. It's quite obvious he doesn't like the guy.

Was not a great game from him but for the life of me I cannot understand why he is being singled out after today, I thought Balotelli was much worse and Sterling was way off his regular standard as well.
Overall the team played well apart from scoring the goals.

had a couple of great positions for shoot today, but he rather choose difficult pass. It seems like he is afraid to blast it.

He looks sh*t scared of making a mistake to me.
I work with a Portuguese guy,  that supports Benfica, he assures me Markovic has talent to play at any level. He'll come good sooner rather than later.

      Get real.

Sign a player for the best part of £20M and send him on loan?

He just needs a bit of time to settle.

Obviously he will take a little time to settle but what concerned me yesterday was his apparent lack of bottle and fight.

Early days but I'm not convinced by any means.

Unfortunately players need to hit the ground running with us. We can't afford to have poor performers here.

People talking as if his price tag is irrelevant so why not send him out on loan? Give him until January I reckon. If still performing below par then allow him to gain some value playing time elsewhere.

Sorry mate but I heard our Liverpool way in the past we like to buy player then put them in reserve team to learn our football. I think that's a good idea unfortunately given player power nowaday it's much harder to do so.

I also disappointed on Lazar performance so far (as I've highest expectation of him, no substance just a feeling he's good enough and ready to play straight in the team) hope he work hard to develop, especially his body strength.
