Even better performance when you consider he probably hasn't played left wing back ever before.

Well in tonight Lazar, outstanding work rate and some beautiful play.

Once this lad's confidence is up he's gonna be one hell of a hard player to stop.

MotM easily for me tonight, good stuff more of the same against the gunners please.

I think me and you were amongst the few who said to give him time because he'll be worth it.

I really, really hope his development continues, because if it does we'll have a worldie by the time he's 23.

One swallow doesn't make a summer and all that, but he is settling right in now, and showing what he can do.

He's not quite up to full fitness yet, but when he is he'll fly past defenders.
Good change of pace and good acceleration as well even if his full speed isn't quite there yet.

He reminds me of the old city player, Peter Barnes but quicker.
      Similar running style at times.
I really love to see players who appear to glide past defenders.
I think Markovic is that type of player.

Gave him MoM for tonight, thought he had a very decent game, scoring a cracking goal, must step up against Arsenal on Sunday.

Peter Barnes? Yep I can see that, good spot.

He seemed to save his best games for us.
Really good player who was ahead of his time in some ways, because he was always cutting inside and going for the CB's to really commit defenders when the expectation for a winger was to go for the line and cross it in.
He was part of a bloody good city side as well.
Mind you, that little skip he did annoyed the F**k out of me at times ;)

His recovery will need to be monitored and assessed but as long as that's OK, he should start as far as I'm concerned.

What was more impressive than his impressive strike, was the delicate chip/cross to find Hendo who headed it across goal for Sterling to score

      Class.

I thought that too. He was full of confidence tonight and he/us really benefited from it.

His movement for that second goal was fab. He passed the ball to Cou on the edge of touchline and then moved inside to join in for the attack. He has to start now against Arsenal.

This guy just makes me  :D :D :D
He does exactly what I love from a wide man, comes inside passes it and carries on running centrally and 2 defenders follow him. It's so simple yet you rarely see players do it but the space it creates for players like lallana and coutinho to exploit and for sterling to run into is just outstanding!

All for starting him against Arsenal but surely not at wing back? Didn't watch the game but I'd have thought it would be an obvious target to exploit the space between the left CB and an inexperienced, attacking wing back, and better teams than Bournemouth (no discredit to them they're doing brilliantly in the C'ship), will surely do so.

That's why there is 3 at the back though.
We'll have Sakho in rather than Lovren.

Looking at how he drives past defenders I'd have no problem starting Markovic where he was just as long as he starts.

Wasn't Sakho on for the Bournemouth goal, and the build up came down our left flank? I don't know, it seems risky to me to play the lad there but, perhaps attack is the best form of defence considering however we set up we'll probably be shaky defensively.

I knew somebody would flag him being on the pitch at the time of the goal.
Jones should have saved that. Either way attack is the best form of defence right now.

I wasn't blaming him. My point was that with the three CB's one of the main weaknesses is the space that can be exploited between the wing back and the right/left centre back. Yes Jones should have saved that but the build up came from the left flank, that space between Markovic and Sakho.

Definitely agree on attack over defence at the moment though!
