He's got some big decisions to make with quite a few of those players in the next few weeks Saint.  Giving him those problems is what they need to do at this stage of their career.

Probably wondering if he could sell the first team and just play the kids :)

Good win that. Great to see the kids perform so well in the second half. Ibe in particular was excellent. Suso was great too, and Peterson looks a decent prospect.

Great finish from the young lads!  Ibe the standout player this game, with Coutinho, Suso, Peterson, and Rossiter all impressing.  Enrique also looked good in his short cameo.  Looks like he is slimmer and more fit than he was 12 months ago!

Shame that Emre got injured.  Hope its nothing serious.

Much respect for Rickie Lambert for coming back early to get fully fit in time for the season opener!!

If this was Borini's last game in a red shirt, then I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.  He has been a model professional and always given 100% for the club.  YNWA Fabio

Didn't watch any of this one either, any standout performers? And how bad was Can's injury?

He just pulled up with a bit of a limp. He was subbed straight away.

Ibe second half. Brendan has just said Can just felt a little tightness and hasn't pulled anything. Taken off as a precaution.

Some observations: Wisdom, Kelly and Robinson aren't going to be ever good enough for a top team and we should do us and them a favour by letting them find their level elsewhere. Great to see Jose Enrique back, Jon Flanaghan did great again. Rossiter obviously has the makings of a good player, but is miles away as yet from being able to make the step up. Ibe was impressive, and when he does what he does best he's a proper handful. I like the Swedish kid up top he'll make a decent player somewhere, Can looked decent while he was on. He obviously isn't a right midfielder though, I think we played him there so we could accommodate Lucas. Lucas hasn't so far managed to change my mind about him, I'm beginning to come to the conclusion he never will.

Suso took his goal very well but he needs to realise he must do this stuff ALL THE TIME, as he does bugger all else. One snippet of creativity a month is never going to be enough, he has to score goals and cause goals to be scored. 14 million quid for Fabio Borini represents a good deal at the moment. Adorjaan will never be good enough, neither will Conor Coady. I thought Coates looked alright when he came on, he NEEDS to get games though, a loan would be a good idea in his case. Ricky Lambert did well too, lovely touch he has.

Been back about half an hour, it was a nice pre-season friendly, supporters in good voice. A few players are a bit shaky like Robinson and Wisdom.  Ibe needs to get his head up and pass once in a while. Bit of a sh*t one to concede just before half time, especially as they rarely threatened the goal. When the younger lads came on it seemed to freshen things up and fair play to both Suso and Peterson taking their goals very well. I must admit a lot of people, myself included were surprised to see Borini warming up and then playing most of the match. All in all, a decent match to watch for £15

Thanks lads, good to hear that Can's isn't too bad. Great to see Ibe impressing again, hope he gets more minutes in the US and throws himself into contention for a role in our squad.
