I can see us playing like that in big matches this season, but we need a criative midfielder to link up play and allow us to keep better posession. That is either Coutinho or Lallana on front spot of the diamond, with Can,Hendo and Stevie behind

So far been most impressed with Emre Can. Looks so composed and sure of himself for someone who is only 20 years of age. Don't want to overhype him but he's looking fairly decent to me.

Totally agree, mate. Totally baffles me to see him out there, 20 years old, mature as F***ing cheddar earning a packet playing for a professional football club; and here's me sitting at home, 21 years old, jumping out on my sister and laughing at farts... perspective... ;D.

Missed the first half. How has Markovic looked? Been waiting to see him play for us

All Trevor Francis has said for 15 minutes is "you can't replace Luis Suarez", "Luis Suarez is so effective", "Liverpool's best player Suarez won't be available at the start of the season" - no sh*t! Sounds so depressing when he talks this guy.

Bit of a unit in the midfield.

Markovic been off the pace, i presume its only a friendly but would like to see him up his workrate. Looks like the balls stuck to his feet when he's on the ball.
Johnson is just woeful. Enrique, Flanno fullback pairing is our strongest squad at the moment.
Sterling is some player, going to tear the league up this year.

Coutinho, Robinson and Allen on this half.

Not sure what Johnson was doing all the way up the pitch, with Sterling having to cover him in defence.

He just does his own thing and has been caught out of position regularly. Puzzles me why BR can't see it

Again, gets sold by the shoulder drop and we're saved by the post.

Nothing changed with the lad, really do hope we're nto starting the season with him starting. Would really have to question wtf when we're spending 9 figures.

He's had the F***ing ball 4 times this half and given it away every time already.

For F**k sake Johnson!! Nowhere to be seen as they broke and then when he finally did get back he was in Skrtel's way! He was like that all last season. He really is a player I can't wait to see leave us!

I know it's only pre season and it's his first game back, but the regression of Johnson is alarming.

Out of position all the time

His Paul Konchesky tribute act is coming on leaps and bounds.

And is it me or does he look too wide? For such a heavy looking guy he doesn't half look pathetic when challenged in that right back area.

I've never been Johnsons biggest fan but I feel like he's good enough for the championship or top half of league 1.

Do you think that's because of a personal beef with him and BR? If it is I don't get it. What did Pepe actually say that was so offensive to BR? Something about Rafa bring the best coach he'd worked under?

Talking about special players, I think THIS is going to be the season Coutinho really steps up a level. He just looks so confident at the moment.

Would like to see Sturridge cut out dropping so deep all of the time to get the ball. Main point of attack now, he needs to be receiving the ball higher up the pitch more often.

That was well cut out by Skrtel then.
