      Bullshit list.

Matthieu has barely featured for Barca this season.

Well, he has played a decent amount of time. 27 apps or 2019 minutes in La Liga. 6 apps or 326 minutes in the UCL. Not saying that list should be taken seriously though

Has he played that much? I only ever see him come on as sub but then again I haven't watched too much la liga this season. Thought Pique and Masch are the starting CB's.

Err... How has Thiago Silva and others scored a perfect 100 on this. How can he have averaged 100/100 this season. List loses all credibility right away. Also Navas is on the midfielders list which speaks for itself.

I don't think a 100 means the player has been perfect; I think all top positioned players are equal to 100 and then the other players are measured in relation to them (judging by the quick look I had in the report). That is, a 100 means the best player around; a 99, for example, would then be a player pretty close to being the best.

Badly underused by us - a VERY good player is Coates. Remember his performance against Man City in Brendan's second match in charge? Superb. Was the victim of a collective cull after that Oldham defeat in the FA Cup it seems (where others were more at fault...notably Jack Robinson).

But then they have Messi at 100 and Ronaldo at 93.5 where as Boeteng and Mascherano are rated higher than that yet not as good as Silva who has 100 too.

I hate these things I really do, it's a 5 minute job rustled up by someone. Rubbish. Also noticed that the CBs are rated on three things for a total of "15 stars". Looks like "Rigour" "Distribution" and "Recovery".

Lovren I am less annoyed at now than I was at Christmas. But him on the list for best defender makes me smile I have to say.

Apparently he's doing very well under the new boss at Sunderland (Advocaat I think?) and has been impressive.
Although he's a player I like, he's 24 now and really needs to kick on and find his way again after his injury problems.

He's a bit younger than Lovren, but to me he looks a better footballer.

Did you watch Coates in his last game for Sunderland...very uncertain on the ball and not convincing at all.
Great shame as i had high hopes for him
Feel Coates is a victim of his stop / start career over the last few years

Haven't seen any of him this year.  Been injured for most of the last two years so I'm sure that has had a big impact - maybe a terminal impact.

No didn't see his performance mate only read Advocaat was praising his recent form in helping Sunderland be more solid at the back.

Watched him against the bitters he was excellent I thought.

To me, he looked like he performed like a player who is a product of his exact situation.
Injuries, club uncertainty, lack of manager's trust and in need of much game experience.

Again, i had high hopes but seems to me that he is yet another player whose career has stagnated by joining us

It is a shame considering he came here with such promise and showed glimpses of a real player in his first season.

His saving grace though is the position he plays. Despite all the injuries he doesn't have to rely so heavily on pace so if he can grow tougher mentally then he might become a very good centre back whichever club he ends up with.

      Agree completely.
Can see him moving to Italy and doing well which is great for him but a shame for us.
We wasted an opportunity, money and a place in the squad.

Did you watch Coates last night mate?

He was brilliant! We should definately give this lad a chance next season.

Knowing us though we'll sell him for 2 quid and hold on to £20 million dud Dejan.

I've always like the look of Seb and he maybe is maturing nicely.

As you say though well probably let him go on a free and spend more money we don't have on another CB.

Rodgers does not rate Coates and he certainly won't get a game ahead of his "defensive leader" Lovren!!
