How much of his time on the pitch was he in an offside position?

      Don't get me started Rodders.

May has well stood on their goal line.

Gutted. Imagine how different things in here would be if the linesman did his job.

I agree. I actually thought he was our most likely chance to score. Yea he was offsides a lot, but at least he was getting himself in position to do something. He actually seemed to care.

I was wondering if it was as noticeable on TV. Sterling was nearly as bad, stopping attacks before they even got started.  Didn't think Mario played badly, but he was amateurish at times.

I actually like Balo, we don't play to his strengths but at least he tried when he came on. I hope we keep hold and give him a chance.
Brendan needs to realise he has to play to the strengths of the players he has, not try to get his system to fit the players!

How Sterling gets into our lineup ahead of Mario.. is a tragedy. A disgrace.

      Desperately deserves game time.

He has been sh*te all season mate, the odd few glimpses here and there don't make up for the fact he doesn't suit our style of play.
Which then begs the question why did we bother signing him if we're not going to change our style of play to get the best of Mario.
Maybe the thought of moneyball came into the equation which has backfired big style!

Another shocking and pointless waste of money from the club.

was hardly the worst offender yesterday.

offsides a few times but put himself about, pressed, took on defenders etc etc.

      he's just another scapegoat.

A few times!?!?!?!? It's quicker to count the minutes he was onside in his 45 minutes on the pitch.

Which didn't count so despite the fact it was the wrong call, it isn't all that matters.

I agree. I see a lot of the media blaming him and saying how he's failed, but as mentioned before, we're playing him wrong. I still stand by what I said, he can fit into our team and our players can adapt to his style of play.

Speaking of offsides, the worst offender I have ever seen was David Villa, I swear, he would be offside 100000 times in a match!!!

Our season is over. May as well give him a run of games to see if he can find some form and increase his transfer value before the summer....

I think he should play regardless of whether our season is over or not. Sterling offers movement in the striker role but he doesn't offer the finishing and that's one thing that people have been complaining about for months, Sterling can't finish enough. I'd put Coutinho and Sterling behind Balo from now until the end of the season and see what happens.

He was F***ing useless the first half of the season. Since dropped he looks like he has a bit more appetite, but i don't actually know what type of football suits him. He obviously doesnt want to me a lump it to me "hold it up" type player. He has a fair good touch and shot on him, when he has time, but he can't run.

My 2 cents - personally think its a gamble that didn't pay off. We will just loose money with him sat on the bench for another season. Ship all the strikers out except Studge and get another one in alongside Origi and use Sinclair as the 4th choice.

Then the same has to apply to Borini and Lambert.

They haven't had a fair crack do you want them to stay too?

Have you somehow forgotten the first 1/3 of our season where he played almost every game??? Why on earth do we as fans deserve another season of watching him struggle as our striker, what did we do to deserve that?

difference is Balotelli has more talent as a footballer than both of them combined, cubed, to 12th power.
