We should judge Mario, when a fully fit Sturridge is back, settled into the side. Then see how Mario shapes up, before being too harsh on the player, then decide if he is in the last chance saloon.

He is 24, he hasn't blew my mind since he came, we got him at a good price, he's got plenty of years ahead of him, he could be very useful in future, remember he's still young and we haven't seen the best of him.
I was dead set against him coming here but come on, he isn't the main reason we have looked off this year, no one seems to be able to read anyone elses plans on the pitch.

It's like a group of individuals not a team who know how each other play.

So in order for Mario to work, he needs Sturridge here?

Sounds like catch 22 to me.

That's how I feel. The only way he can justify his inclusion as Studge's partner is if he makes Studge better, not the other way around....

Today in an interview Antonio Conte said that he left Italy not because he was injured, but because he "needs to be educated, but he doesn't have time for that."

Winning with a Balotelli (#Disgrace) goal would not taste like winning for me.He could score 100 goals a season and it would just repulse me more to rely on such a distasteful character to get this proud club forward.

He's fit???? Really?? We cant catch a break can we?!

      Genuinely Guttted!!!

So you're assuming Brendan is going to keep starting him in Studge's absence.

Getting bloody predictable isn't it. The only positive Brendan can possibly get from Studge's absence is to change tactics with Balotelli, either one up top with him or drop him. If he plays him up top on his own against Palace I'll be livid.

I did agree elsewhere in the thread that may of been a tad harsh...

But i stand by my judgement of him... Never rated him at City, Never rated him at either Milan clubs, Didnt want LFC to buy him... proving me right so far!!

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems that on Sunday you'll most probably be livid  :)

Liverpool players have reportedly become frustrated with their team manager Brendan Rodgers for favouritism towards goal-shy Mario Balotelli.

Liverpool players are angry that the Italian is in the team no matter how poorly he plays and they have even sent a senior star to see Rodgers about it. There is a feeling in the dressing room the boss has gone overboard with the striker, playing him until he breaks his duck in the Premier League.

The former Manchester City forward has scored just twice since his 16 million pounds move from AC Milan, once in the Champions League and once in the League Cup, The Mirror reported.

Although his performances have improved lately, patience is wearing thin and a source close to the players said that there is a growing sense of frustration, adding that it seems no matter how badly Balotelli plays, he's in the team.

The source revealed that it's almost like the manager is trying to prove a point, playing Balotelli until he scores.

England stars Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana have been used sparingly while Balotelli gets the nod virtually every week.

Rodgers is not the first manager to stand accused of indulging Balotelli. Former City boss Roberto Mancini was often criticised for turning a blind eye to the Italian's indiscretions, the report added.
