Was obviously disappointed not to get the win here BUT...

The team performed well and stuck together. Balo should have scored and put the result beyond doubt; I think he needs to be more direct and more aggressive. But it was good to see the team "clicking".

Lallana had a much-needed good game.

Moreno put in another terrific performance.

      Stevie curled in another beaut.

That snarling c@nt-face mirallas got injured.

Frustrating but maybe another performance like this + Sturridge will = 3 pts next time out. YNWA

Positives from today - We bossed the game, Lallana looks more like  the player we signed, the defence was nearly perfect, Migs didn't mess up, Sterling looks world class, and when Mario actually gets a ball crossed into him, he looks dangerous!

Very unlucky to be hit With a "goal of the month contender" sucker punch.

      Alberto Moreno.

Against the Bitters and Mancs he can always raise his game,  hopefully he can push on now and look the part against Basel and West Brom.

We actually kept a clean sheet for 90 minutes. Shame there were an extra three...

Thought there were clear signs of the team starting to play better.
Just a pity about extra time or we'd all be kind of saying the same thing.

      I thought everything was better.

Nothing could have been done to stop that goal it was a freak. Normally that ends up through the window of the park pub and we go home delighted with 3 points.

We were better and its a place to kick on from

      Totally agree.
I was quite pleased with some of the improvement of individuals and as a team, we were certainly better than the last few games.

We battered them for most of the game. Hoping they were good, cause we were better, and that can only mean we are on the mend and getting more cohesive. Good performance all round really.

Phillipe Coutinho. He's clearly our best player on his day. He was our best player last night with Sterling a close 2nd. These were the only two who looked worthy of sharing the pitch with the likes of Modric, Rodriguez, Ronaldo etc.

He looked good when he came on against QPR too.  Hopefully he has turned a corner in terms of form.

We might now accept last Season was largely down to luis and accept that without him we are nothing like the same team and move on.Expectations do need to be lowered and a top 4 place is the holy grail now

I think expectations were lowered the minute we heard that Suarez was going mate.

I agree with those above that Coutinho's return to form is the main positive to take from this game.... he was with Sterling one of the few bright spots.

We've got the chance to return the favour at their place. :)

Also, after reading some posts during and post match, maybe some of these fair weather types will F**k off, at least for a while.

Disappointed in the performance, but ashamed to be a Liverpool fan? Never.  Time to hold your head up high and walk on, not walk away.

      "Positives"?

Madrid accepted the pleas for mercy at half time. And used the 2nd half as a cool down in preparation for their Barcelona match.

I was utterly ashamed to be a Liverpool supporter yesterday.
Other than a 19 yr old, I don't think there was ANYTHING to be proud of. The rest of the team was kids, overhyped, or past it. And none of it surprised me in the least.

Well go support some Yankee American "Football" Club who would die a million deaths if they tried to play rugby.

No one comes on this forum ...... ever  ...... and says they are ashamed to be a Liverpool supporter.

This madrid team is the most expensive team in history, I think we should remember this. They are at the top of their game. They exerted themselves. Give us kroos and Varane and see what happens. Oh and mignolet cannot punch the F***ing ball

We got walloped last night but conversely there were more positives in that game than the QPR game we won. Mistakes aside, we didn't actually play that badly, especially if you consider the point that we where playing arguably the best team in the world right now. We threatened their defence on more than one occasion with them resorting to pulling Sterling down or barging him off the ball every time he attacked and with no mistakes at the back and a little more quality up front I genuinely think we could have won that game - remember, we where missing Danny and he would have made a huge difference. We also controlled the game for the first twenty minutes and against the European champions who have access to a bottomless pit of money, that's no mean feat.

It's just the silly mistakes that keep letting us down and if we cut them out and get Danny back fit we'll play a lot better. There's no shame in loosing to this Real Madrid team, especially when you consider that most of the players and the coaching staff have no prior UCL experience, and we played a whole lot better than we did at any other point this season since Spurs so we use this as a platform because even a defeat can kickstart a season.
