Gordon Schildenfeld will replace injured Dejan Lovren in Croatian squad for @EuroQualifiers. Good luck with recovery to @DejanLovrenLFC6

Any news on how long he is out? Skrtel-Toure pairing then..

Abdominal injury could he anything  from 3 weeks to 3 months. Hopefully it's only a minor strain.

Is it true that Markovic is playing tonight's game? So the "injury" was just a wrong guess?

He was taken off injured, but they did say it wasn't as bad as originally feared.

I think he's trying to say it's a blow to have Lovren back.

      Anyway

Great to have so many players coming back into the squad.
Sturridge, Allen, Can. Badly needed. Lets kick on.

      Discussion of injuries:

The irony doesn't escape me when I say I'm sick of reading about our sick players.

Sturridge has blew my mind since he came to Liverpool but why is he so prone to injuries? Probably can't be answered but we had to make contingency plans this season and every new season because this is a fact.
Controversially is he modicodled? Are players wrapped up in cotton wool too much?

It's one of those things. Probably brought on by trying to come back too quick after oyster features f****d him over. We'll survive, even though Daniel is a top class player. Get well soon son.

Something we just need to get used to with Daniel, Just seems like his body is not robust enough to play a full season injury free.

      Studge.

      Rodgers says that its OK.
      Dont worry .

Thats why we "bulked up" in the summer. He says.

I bulked up in the summer whilst having medical treatment.
It didnt mean I was well.

      NO recognized striker.
What we have is a complete waste of space.
      Balotelli ? Borini ?  Lambert?

      They aint scaring anyone.

FFS,  can it get any f***in worse,  can't f***in believe it, I was thinking that this is where our season starts,  batter QPR,  get a  cl win or draw against Real M and see our confidence soar, now it's yet another set back, he's out what 4 weeks?,  then it's yet another of those f***in international breaks another week or two taking us into mid November,
That's almost 3 months, a third of the season gone,
January can't come quick enough,  in the meantime tho, with Daniel injured,  Raheem knackered,  Mario mis-firing, Lambert mis-placed and Borini mis-taken, what the F**k?

I'm not sure about this but can we recall loanee players back before the loan term expires,?  I'm sure we can,  if so I'd get Ibe back for cover,  we can't afford to use Raheem for every game when he's already vulnerable,  last thing we need is to lose him, also
, it's clear Balo needs a partner up front,  is it time Borini was given a run of games, perhaps that's all he needs, a run of games, a confidence boost, for me Balo on his own doesn't work so why not try a Balo / Borini pairing, tbh, we ain't got many other options have we ?

      Your thoughts please?

Horrible news to wake up to this morning, really feel for Sturridge and of course it's a massive blow to our season. Our top scorer is currently Raheem with 3 goals, Balotelli really needs to step up and start putting away chances, though I don't place the blame for his slow start entirely on his shoulders, the team in general hasn't played too well and hasn't created many chances for him or the other strikers.

With Sturridge out even longer, I'm hoping that Coutinho can rediscover his form, when he's at his best he creates a lot of chances and has the ability to score more than he's done so far.

As for bringing back loanees, the obvious one is Origi. There was a tabloid piece somewhere that said Rodgers had asked to bring him back in January, as apparently we don't have a clause in there to recall him. Maybe a fee would be involved? I'm not sure but I'd be very open to the idea of bringing him in ASAP.

Risk going off-topic really, but with Allen and Can coming back, we have options in central midfield.

I'd much rather take a punt on Balotelli up front with Gerrard tucked in behind, it feels like we're missing a decisive spark in the final third, and maybe Stevie could be the key (out of our current squad at least!)?

As tempting as that might be I'm just not sure Gerrard has got the pace and movement to do that job anymore.  But seeing as we won't know know till we find out worth a punt!  Either way - there has to be somebody within 20 yards of Balotelli or it's going to be another long afternoon.
