Nothing wrong with Lallana playing there, although it is a really foor formation. I'd never play a 4-1-2-3

Why play him out of position on his debut, particularly as he has next to no experience in that position? He may be converted to a CM but it would be pretty weird to play him there on his debut.

Also that's clearly a 4-3-3, which is a far more sane formation than any of this 4-2-3-1 business with Hendo and Gerrard partnering in midfield which has been proven over and over again to be horrendous.

I think Brendan is well aware of the bib theory and uses it to his advantage whenever he can.

      Do ye think he does?

Game on Sat I'm surprised, the bloody FA never let us have games on a Sat anymore, we will always be the last on the week's fixture. Their pet MU will always have games on Sat.

One of those votes for Villa to win is mine, clicked on it by accident

Should have like a confirmation asking whether I'm sure just in case I have a spaghetti arm moment again.

Can't believe the way injuries are mounting up, but somehow I feel the situation is under control and we'll out-class them regardless.
Can't wait, a game on a Saturday too... at last.

Not sure the FA have anything to do with it.

That's too much superstition for me to take, I'll have to go with the opposite every time now then when we win.

Jeez, I can't wait to get back to Anfield...seems like a lifetime ago since the opening day of the season  :( Adam and Mario both possibly making their home debuts....payback time for the Villa holding us to a draw last season, can't wait to be singing my little heart out on the Kop, better get to bed....gonna be a long day tomorrow.

3-1 is my prediction, with Hendo grabbing the opener.

      Enjoy the game folks xx

Nah, mate. It's on tomorrow evening.

We'll have a fairly different team to this:

      08 Gerrard
      37 Skrtel

      31 Sterling Booked
      14 Henderson
      07 Suárez
      15 Sturridge
      10 Coutinho (Lucas - 45' )

      Substitutes
      01 Jones
      06 Luis Alberto
      09 Iago Aspas
      12 Moses
      21 Lucas (Allen - 66' )

Got the strangest feeling Villa are going to get spanked today, which is strange for me, as they are a team I'm normally wary of.

      4-0?

      Like the Under 21s.

I do believe the misery years of the two parasites are over so we no longer fear the mid/ lower table mediocrity of teams like Villa. At minimum of a 2 goal margin tomorrow for the mighty red men.

This is exactly the kind of challenge we need to prove we have improved.
This to me, is a must win game. Not so much because of a title challenge but more because of how we have faired against Villa over the recent seasons.

      I would go with:
Mig, Manquillo, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, Balotelli.
Subs: Jones, Toure, Enrique, Lucas, Lambert, Markovic, Borrini

Going for a 2-0 win....Coutinho and Lambert when he comes on for Mario.

Villa are never a pushover at Anfield. They are well overdue a hiding so let's hope that happens.

Will be at the game later. Everyone else, hope you enjoy and hope the lads makes us proud as always today.
