I'd be tempted to give Borini a start for this one alongside Mario.

      Mignolet

      Manquillo  Lovren  Sakho  Moreno

      Gerrard

      Henderson       Coutinho

      Sterling

      Balotelli  Borini

This isn't a dig at anyone but it's interesting to see the amount of people including Borini in their line ups for this game when so many had written him off and were wanting to see him sold in the summer.

I don't know that people necessarily wanted him sold. It was more that the offer from Sunderland and QPR was incredible considering what we have gotten in the form of goals from him

       I'd go                                       Mignolet

                       Manquillo         Sakho           Lovren             Moreno

                                                      Lucas

                                     Can                         Henderson

                                                    Coutinho

                                  Balotelli                    Sterling

Leave Lallana, Markovic, Enrique, Gerrard, Borini, Lambert on the bench to come on later.

Unless Can is injured of course then swap Sterling with Can and bring on Borini for Sterlings position

      Out for 6 weeks mate.

From my perspective I'm happy we kept Borini, I just had an issue with him being labelled loyal.

Regarding selling him, I'd expect most sit in the same boat as me where £14m was too good to turn down, but of course only if we had someone else lined up to take his place in the squad. Not many would take the £14m without someone taking up that space in the squad, some might but I think that would be foolish.

When it comes to him starting I think many have come to the conclusion that we play so much better as a diamond than a 4231 and in that instance playing anyone to get more out of the whole is the right choice. Isolating Balotelli wont get us what we need so that's the conclusion I've come to. I wouldn't be averse to trying Raheem up there either if we want to keep Coutinho in the side, or Markovic as I think he has some experience of playing just off the striker but the main aim in playing any of those lads right up side Balotelli is simply to get us playing a system that gets the most out of the XI and not simply to get Borini into the starting line-up.

      Manquillo         Skrtel       Lovren       Moreno
                                       Gerrard
                 Hendo                              Markovic
                                    Sterling
                      Borini                  Balotelli

That is my preference this weekend. Lallana and Coutinho have been awful and I would like to see Markovic get a run of games in the side.

This one should be a win if we want any hopes of top 4, let alone winning the title.  Skrtel to come in and replace Lovren.  Balotelli and Sterling should be up top, Coutinho playing at the top of the diamond; he needs to pull his finger out as he's been quite poor lately.

      Valdes
      Manquillo Skrtel Sakho Moreno
      Gerrard
      Henderson Markovic
      Coutinho
      Sterling Balotelli

      should be 3 points.

      I'd go with
      --------------------Mignolet-----------------
      Manquillo-Lovren-Sakho-Moreno
      --------------------Lucas----------------------
      --------Henderson--Coutinho---------
      Sterling--------------------------Markovic
      -------------------Balotelli--------------------

Think Gerrard needs to start taking a back step, I don't think he's bad I just think he makes us play a certain way and we need to be more dynamic, plus Lucas was quality when he came on against Ludogrets.

I'd also stick with Coutinho as he needs more game time in the more box to box role he's openly said BR has been trying to turn him into.

I think Mario is fine upfront on his own as long as he gets runners around him and I think Sterling and Lazar can do that and with Coutinho giving him the edge of the box threat!

Sakho and Lovren partnership must be worked on and I don't think doing it at melwood is the answer! They need game time!

Manquillo Moreno and Henderson are all nailed in atm.

I predicted a 1-2 scoreline  but I have a feeling we're going to go London again and wipe The Hammers like we did to The Spuds. I can feel it in my bones.

Please play two up top from the off BR.

If we don't get a goal in the first half it'll be hard to break these down.

Also it's going to be ugly to watch.

After last Saturday and Tuesday, we need to make a clear statement in this game.

0-2.  Lovren and (oddly) I think Borini

Agree with many who want to see Borini start this game. We all know he's not enough chance so far to show what he can do. Now that chance arrive so we should let him play and see.
I personally not rate Borini such high but every players need chance when appropriate.

Expected a win with cleansheet this game, COYR.

He's one of those managers who will never admit his own shortcomings as a manager of a football team and always look to blame others. Can't stand the man. Hated him ever since his petulant, disrespectful spat with Rafa...don't even get me started on his "tactics".

This isn't a dig at anyone but it's interesting to see the amount of people including Borini in their line ups for this game when so many had written him off and were wanting to see him sold in the summer.

To be fair sir, my reasoning was more around the fact that we are much more threatening with 2 up front rather than Balo as a target man. He's the kind of player who needs someone quick and nimble around him to create space and provide some outlet for him, and given Lambert is not that kind of player, we don't have much choice but to play Borini. I still think Borini is useless...but at least he has some pace, plus he is young and still has the ability to turn things around so I won't write him off completely.

I disagree with playing Sterling alongside Balo, he is not the kind of player who should be receiving the ball from midfield, he's much more effective slightly deeper with space to run at defenders. Playing Sterling up front is nullifying his most valuable asset - pace and passing.

We haven't been a good side playing with one up front since Torres left, no reason for that to change now.

We're gonna miss Allen a lot in this, let alone Sturridge. We have to revert to the diamond also. We look bare of ideas without it. Would have been good for Can to come in here. stupid injuries!

Anyone know if West Ham are missing anyone?

To use a sh*te phrase 'we are where we are'. With the Luis money some might've hoped we'd bring in a really top striker, and good backup like Remy, and move Fabio on (we got good bid). It didn't happen, water under the bridge, we signed Mario late, so now we shuffle the deck we have (plus some of the other new signings not quite performing yet). One things for sure, he won't get a better chance than this to make his mark for LFC. Hope he gets a hattrick against chubby-samuel :)

      Manquillo-Lovren-Sakho-Moreno
      Stevie
      Hendo-Lallana
      Sterling
      Mario-Borini

That's the team for me as well. Thought Fabio looked good when he came on against Ludo and I think the 4-4-2 diamond suits us better than the 4-2-3-1

Need a win here to build some momentum!
