The kiddies prog you could watch all day on LSD, definitely a progression from Bill & Ben with a little weed.

      Absolutely mate.

Many of us have been there mate.  The conversation's usually gripping even though you're having it with yourself as everybody's flobberdobbing at the same time  ;)

Although from a flobberdob pov, Bill, Ben and Little Weed had nothing on the Magic Roundabout  :D

Ah yes, the Magic Roundabout :lmao:

Dougal - Hippyish long hair, has "dreams" after eating sugar cubes. (LSD)

Brian - Red nose, flighty attention span, aggressive personality, delusions of grandeur. Snails leave white lines behind them. (Cocaine or Amphetamines)

Ermintrude - Finds everything funny, constantly hungry - and cows eat grass. (Cannabis)

Zebedee - Flushed red, constantly twitching, hyperactive, looks like a pill. (Uppers, Poppers or Amylnitrite)

Dylan - Dopey, unfocused; in Dougal and the Blue Cat he utters the line "Hey man, I'm just watching these crazy mushrooms grow". (Magic Mushrooms)

Tiswas was another program that could be viewed 'high'. They were even smoking weed during live broadcasts!

      Class mate  ;D

On a serious note, Dr Who began the year I was born and according to my Dad "there was loads on telly about JFK getting shot!" So err an entertaining year then?

Did you not watch the adult version Debs? I was just about right for watching both.

Having said that, I've just watched a bit on youtube and my sense of humour has definitely moved on.

Used to see Bob Carolgees off OTT and Tiswas in Hunts Cross all the time, minus his dog. He lived there not far from us. Would have asked for his autograph if Spit the gollying dog had been with him.

You mean there was a difference? :f_tongueincheek: It wasn't just us kids that watched Tiswas. And I suspect that the reason why Tiswas always smashed the Multi Coloured Swap-shop in ratings was mainly down to dads and blokes in general having a penchant for Sally James.

Bernard Manning on a kids program ??? I'll never forget the scene of when there was one of those Britain's self-confessed 'Strongest Man' characters trying to lift Manning and Big Daddy together at the same time in some type of yoke device with seats on either end - damaging and nearly breaking his back in doing so.

And the infectious Frank Carson, a regular from another retro tea time favourite - The Comedians.

Random factotum for today, He owns a candle shop in Frodsham now.
