      Pre-Match : Liverpool V Hull City Anfield 25/10/2014 - 15.00
      Oct 23, 2014 11:45:41 am
Amidst all the abuse and name calling in other threads, thought to create this thread so that people relax a little bit and think about our next match.

Liverpool and Hull City will play their ninth game of the Premier League season at Anfield on Saturday, 25th October.

The teams last played in January this year when Liverpool won 2 – 0. Last year they played in December and Hull City won 3 – 1.

Liverpool is currently fifth in the league with 13 points having won 4 games, drawn 1 and lost 3. They are tied for points with West Ham.
Hull City is currently eleventh in the league with 10 points having won 2 games, drawn 4 and lost 2. They are tied for points with Aston Villa

Brendan needs to show balls and take some major decisions for the next game.
Personally, I would drop Mario, Skrtel, Lovren and bring in Sakho, Toure(Yes, I am that desperate)

      I would go with -

      Mignolet
      Johnson
Sakho(Not sure if he is fit)
      Toure
      Moreno
      Can
      Henderson
      Steven Gerrard
      Coutinho
      Sterling
      Lallana

Subs - Ricky, Jones, Lovren, Sturridge(When is he going to be available?), Allen

Going in for a 2-0 win in this game.

Get another win and things will start to look brighter for everyone. A clean sheet and an aggressive display are needed.

Mario needs resting until Danny is back then given another chance as his strike partner. It's just not working playing him up on his own and Borini lacks the needed quality. I'd go with:

                       Mignolet

      Manquillo  Skrtel  Lovren Moreno

                    Allen   Gerrard

        Henderson  Coutinho   Lallana

                          Sterling

No Coutinho? I think he is geting back to his best in the last 2 games.

Good idea to open a thread for the Hull game, to get last night's game behind us. I have gone for a 2  1 win for the Reds in the Prediction league. I cannot see us keeping a clean sheet the way the defence is playing. Not sure what the actual team will be, but an ideal way to bounce back straight away with a win.

I think we'll win this one IF we drop Balotelli. Hate saying this but we must start Lambert. Let him get a goal and he can be our no.2 after Sturridge.

Sod Balo. Disgusting attitude that player has.

It was between him and Can but I just don't trust our defense at all right now and Henderson is best going forward but has the energy to get back if he has too buy yeah, I'd rather have someone who's main job is to help Stevie out, and he looked powerful when he came on the other day... I'd be happy with Coutinho though too, as long as the defense can do its job.

With TRP on this, play Toure. I advocated giving the defence time to come together in CB. But as of yet there have been no signs of improvement between Skertel & Lovren.

At least with Toure, you know he may have an in game wobble from time to time but he is a leader/talker/enthusiast. This team needs a leader and organiser and Toure is stand out for me. I don't know Hull's game plan but I can envisage that they are partial to a bit of route one stuff, something our defence isn't partial to defending.

I don't think we can do any worse and we may get a bit of communication and confidence back there with Toure.

I would play Skrtel and Toure. Which tells you what I think of Lovren.

Can I continue the name calling here please ?

I love us playing Hull. I love us beating them

Never forget that arrogant fat b***ard    Bruce   gloating in his NE accent that he had "turned us over".
      He kept repeating it.

I would drop Gerrard he offers very little protection to the back 4 and does not have the legs to play further forward. Let's see if Can is any good.
Drop Johnson and Lovren/Skrtel (both been rubbish) for Manquillo and pray Sakho is fit.
I would give Borini a start instead of Balo.

      I would go with,
                                        MIG
      Manquillo,  Skrtel        Sakho            Moreno
                                Henderson.
      Couthino   Gerrard       Allen         Lallana
                                 Sterling.
Our two CB's need protection and Stevie isn't that sort of player I don't know if Henderson is but we don't have a proper defensive midfielder

Don't care if it's Borini, Lambert, or Sterling up top. I'd even be happy with one of Lallana or Coutinho playing as a false 9. Just don't want to see Balotelli in the starting lineup. We need players who are willing to work hard and sacrifice themselves for the good of the team. Also, I'd definitely bring sakho on for Lovren and possibly Toure on for Skrtel.

We need a win and a convincing performance!!

I'd like to see the following

                       Mignolet
           Skrtel    Sakho    Lovren
      Johnson                       Moreno
                         Can
           Henderson         Coutiniho
                        Lallana
                        Sterling

3CB's should give us more solidity and Lallana and Sterling together with Henderson and Coutts should cause them enough issues in attack

                                        Jones

      Manquillo            Lovren      Skrtle            Moreno

                                     Can

      Henderson               Coutinho             Lallana

Suso (Markovich if Suso is injured)
                                         Borrini

Drop Mig for Jones to show him that there is some bloody competition (and I like Jones to be honest) and that he needs to fight to be in the team and command the area he if tasked with keeping. Rest Gerrard as its a long season and we will need him later on for sure - also rest Sterling as he must be knackered and he will also be needed as well. Bring in Suso if fit and keep Couthino in as they both look like they can unlock a side...

Personally, I don't think this is our best 11 players - but can do the job and a shake up is needed...
