Not one of us has put Markovic in the line-up. 25m quid.

I would drop Mignolet, he has to know there are consequences.

Borini doesn't appear to be in the match day squad according to the provisional squad released on Twitter which is strange unless he is injured.

Most people's suggested line ups look decent although I would seriously look at giving Jones a go instead of Mig.

I know Jones isn't great but neither is Mignolet and you never know it might give him the kick up the arse that he needs.

But let's be honest, it'll never happen. I'd be as well being the back up goalie.

Hull are no mugs they managed to draw with arsenal at Emirates and only lost 1 of their 4 games away . Very very hard game to be honest it's not easy , I hope we scrap a win whatever it takes .

Is this going to be Brendan's biggest test in terms of his team selection.
Will Gerrard play ?.. and if he does will it be in his current position. We have enough good players to put out a attractive attacking winning team. What will it be?

I think we will see Lambert up top with Sterling, Coutinho and LLallana behind.

Yea, I'd start Lambert for this one, then them three lads behind him.
But BR sees them in training - and the striker call is a close one - but whoever starts up top, hope they get on the score-sheet, need some confidence up there.

I'd be more inclined to play our 1st team here and then rest people in midweek.

Our 'first team' has been sh*te virtually all season.

I'd definitely make a few changes.

Is even thought of this in midfield.

Boy, am I glad this thread is up - I'm so looking forward to move away from the disaster that is the Real Madrid blitz. Let's get this one right this time. Come on you Redmen!

                     Mignolet

      Manquillo Lovren Toure Moreno

                      Gerrard

               Henderson Can

                    Lallana
      Sterling                  Coutinho

I'd like to see how this formation would work. The second half against Real when Lallana was brought on for Balotelli, the front three actually looked alright. But I feel Rodgers is not gonna go for it. He's likely to retain Balo - less likely to put on Lambert - to prove a point on Balo? Rodgers is quite stubborn that way.

Defensively, I would be confident with that midfield, but on the ball, I wouldn't :(

      Bib theory suggests-
                            Mignolet
         Manquillo   Skrtel   Lovren   Moreno
                             Gerrard
                   Can     Lallana     Allen
                       Sterling   Balotelli

Personally Id drop Gerrard and Allen for Henderson and Coutinho

Don't care who plays, just as long as the effort is there. Put in a strong performance and get the 3 points. Want to see two up front ideally, and decent crosses from the wings. Does that not happen any more?

Your right mate at home against the Tiggers no reason not to have 2 up front.

Although not a huge fan of the Moyes style whipping in cross after cross.

What does everyone think about playing Raheem in the false 9 role? Lambert and Balotelli are simply too statuesque for our style of play, I actually felt we looked a bit more like LFC in the 2nd half against Madrid the other night ie. pace, movement, tempo, difficult to mark. As for Borini, what's the point, let's get our best 11 on the pitch. Neither Borini, Lambert or Balotelli make it into my best 11.

I'd be all for playing a false 9, but I think Lallana or Coutinho would be better suited to this role with Raheem playing LW. I'm also fine if BR wants to stick with a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 as long as balo is not in the lineup. I'm happy enough with either of Borini or Lambert as they will at least put forth some effort to help the team.

My team to start against Hull if all fit:

                           Mignolet

      Manqillo   Skrtel     Lovren    Moreno

               Henderson (c) Lucas Allen

                           Sterling

                   Lambert  Balotelli

Obviously we want the three points. But I fully agree with what Carra said after the Madrid game: We've got to start keeping some clean sheets to get some confidence, even it if means going more defensive and changing the system considerably. At the moment, the team feels to me like it did in the late days of Roy Evans reign. It looks like we are going to concede from every set piece. We also look disjointed in open play and ineffective up front.

I'd set up with Henderson Lucas and Allen in the middle to add a bit more solidity in front of the back four. I'd also play Lambert together with Balotelli in this one. For me, Balotelli up front alone isn't working. He needs someone up with him, particularly in this game as Hull set up with three central defenders, so someone else must occupy defenders to give more support. I also think Lambert and Balotelli offer more presence in terms of defending set pieces in our own box than Lallana and Coutinho.

Sterling works the channels and Manquillo and Moreno provide the attacking width. Also having two front men offers the wing backs more to hit with their crosses. Midfield subs include Stevie, Coutinho and Lallana in case we want fresh legs and want to play more short midfield passing in the second half.

That's what I'd like to see: A horses for courses team. But realistically I don't expect it to happen.
