The Anny Rd end stands out like a sore thumb, it's a shame it won't/might not get expanded.

i think we missed a trick here, if we moved the new stand back and on to the park a bit we would of had the room to build spanking new stadium

I believe there'd be a problem with transport links for the extra fans. At least that's what I've seen being mentioned anyway. The likes of Emirates, Old Trafford and Wembley can hack such big attendances because of their location. Anfield is located in quite a built up area of residence. I could be completely wrong though.

I asked this a while back and RedPuppy cleared it up and it is as you say mate.

Getting people too and from the ground is the obstacle to any further development.

Not quite sure if it is something on my display but there seems to be some blue sh*t in that picture.

You'd think there would be more seats being put in going by them images.

I know that it doesn't fit the ethos of the club to have all of the fancy people space, but if we don't compete financially with how other clubs do things, then we fall even further behind. It's a market that has to be accounted for.

All that shiny new corporate space will be what pays the dividend for FSG to get the "loan" repaid.

It's quite a nice thought that the suits who sit around bragging and networking instead of watching the game will be paying for the extension.

Looks very nice I have to admit, I'd imagine you'd get a tremendous view of the city from way up there.

Yes I guess it would be, you could wear your best suit and have a conversation about the prawn sandwiches, and not wear any red scarves.

Why don't we expand the Anfield Road Stand, it looks so out of place when you look at the whole stadium.

I think a major part of that is the road itself. It would basically have to be moved or redirected, which would cost a lot as well as possibly upsetting a few locals.

Looking at the Picture thread, I'm just wondering if this "New" stand has parts dating back to 1906.

      The original main stand.

The Main Stand development in the early 70's.

You can see that the lower section has not been rebuilt.

looks grand and imposing something we need when you walk upto the stadium to strike fear into appoinents on a dark winters night all lit up in red!!

shame we cant get it done this season, does it mean at some stage this season the main stand will be closed or are they going to finalise the final lift and move as soon as we've played our last home game?

hopefully by the time its done we have a sponsor for anny rd end and we can develop that side and get the stadium close to 65k mark. just to out do chelsea and arsenal, spurs

I think they're trying to get the structure right for the start of this season.

sweet will look imposing when done, its already looking like a beast cant wait to just see it done from the outside. might go have a look tomorrow as not been round there since the end of the season when i did a tour. thought i would get one in before the old boot room, changing room etc are gone and a memory
