We are going to have a grand Anfield, we have the perfect manager for our club...just need to sort out the squad and our progress on the field and then we can truly be kicking back to becoming what we used to be.

Indeed we are AZ  Itching for the start of the season already

Nah still needs the Anny Road doing first, that second tier at the moment is still a bit of embarrassment.

Liverpool FC submits Anfield planning application

Liverpool FC has today submitted a planning application which provides further details on the plans for a new fan zone at Anfield when the Main Stand opens next season.

The application applies for consent to create a dedicated facility within the stadium’s new public realm, where fans can gather together and enjoy the special atmosphere before the game.

Central to the plans is the careful positioning of the fan zone in a contained area, set back from the existing high street. The new outdoor space will be open to all supporters on a matchday – located adjacent to a section of the site earmarked for the proposed new club store.

Fans can also look forward to an improved pre-match offering when football returns next season, with temporary permission sought for proposals including:

• New food and drink outlets
  A temporary stage for pre-match entertainment and interactive fan activities
  Pop-up retail units for the sale of official club merchandise and matchday programmes
  An LFCTV matchday television studio
  The installation of branded graphics to welcome visitors to Anfield, while creating an attractive frontage to the fan zone
  Anfield’s new fan zone will operate on a matchday and will not serve alcohol.

The planning application is expected to be considered by the city’s planning committee later this year.

Looking at that aerial pic, how bad does the Anny Rd look now when in comparison to the other 3 stands.

I wonder what state the pitch will be in next season.

Non of this work, I suspect, will leave the pitch unaffected.

Gets relaid most seasons some I'm sure they will probably have cleared out the heavy vehicles by next week or the week after.

And even if it is crap - if you're sitting high enough in the new Main Stand - you won't be able to tell!
