For the sake of his career, and to prevent the hysteria that will follow a defeat on this forum, he has to play or at least have Borini on the bench; you know, that fella none of us like, think is any good, and didn't want at the club four months ago but has suddenly become the answer to many of our problems.

If he does play him I'd restore Gerrard to a deep lying role, move Cou central where he can actually put balls through for him and Maco and Raheem to scare the sh*t out of them with their pace.

i think in BRs shoes he will be thinking anything but a loss in this game, which means packing the midfield with defensive minded players like the lineup against Basel. i hope i am wrong.

What a great game to come when you need the players to show.
If they can't motivate themselves to go there and beat an average UTD team then they never will.
Lets get one thing straight what ever reservations I have about Brendan I want him to win every game we start and even more so this Sunday.He has a chance he needs to be bold in his selection which means playing Couthino and Can and if available Sakho/Lovren.
We do have enough in this team to go there and get a result I would imagine even Mario might show a bit of interest in beating UTD at home

Ideal chance to kill the opposition on the counter. Unlike Sunderland or Stoke or Palace, the Mancs will (have to) attack at home, leaving the space behind and their dodgy defenders isolated against our pacey players. Lambert should not start, with Lallana, Sterling and Markovic causing havoc on fast breaks. Hope our center-backs take their good 2nd half performance vs Basel to OT. We are underdoggs and can play fast transition footie, this game should suit us.

Yeah to be honest I'm not comfortable with that midfielder partnership either... I was going to put Lucas & Can but then I thought to myself - can I really leave Gerrard out of a game against Man Utd? He loves to score against them So perhaps it would be better to move him further forward and one of Coutinho/Lallana/Markovic could make way.

I agree the combo of Gerrard and Lucas would be a disaster.
Stevie will start so needs to play further forward maybe even as striker, I'm sure he would be better than Skrtel.

I want to see us playing with the likes of Couthino,Lallana and Can lets play them off the park they are very average the front two if we use two will be Balo and Borini for me if we play with just Balo then we will be in for a long day.

We can beat these clowns with pace on the counter. Sterling and Markovic should both start in a front three. Maybe Coutinho behind them,
