I was not blaming him for every issue we have but at the end of the day who is/was the leading physician at Melwood and the club.

But yeah what Shabs said somebody has to be responsible

But he's a doctor, nothing to do with the day to day fitness of the players or putting any training schedules together for their week to week fitness levels. Nothing to do with training

Probably nothing in it. He may have had enough and wants to get back to a day to day job
I'm not looking for any reason for this or to blame anyone for injuries we are suffering, that's part and parcel of the game

I find it interesting that the story on Daniel's recovery has come out today, noting that that organization has ceased working with Everton and how they will be working with Stevie in L.A.

Would not shock me to hear they are going to be at LFC now.

A large backroom staff is essential - that was one of he reasons for Ferguson's success at United. It wasn't his 'genius', it was his ability to find the best expansive backroom staff available.

What Rene Meulensteen said about Rodgers needing to strengthen and add to the backroom staff was true. He acknowledged Rodgers was a brilliant manager but the best clubs who were in the Champions League also had a large backroom staff.

Somehow, I have the suspicion that FSG think we can make do with a small coaching and fitness team. Perhaps Rodgers believes this too, but look at all the big clubs and the coaching and fitness team is massive. It doesn't take anything away from the managers authority, its like a battle, the bigger the battle, the more generals.

In a battle on all fronts, it's impossible to fight with a small team of men, backroom staff included. It is fine for Swansea but Liverpool is a different matter. FSG must extend the remit for coaches and fitness experts at this club - but somehow I get this impression they would quite happily cut back on the coaching staff.

Its not an impression mate, they have reduced Melwood staff drastically since taking over. Instead, they´re hiring a lot of business people around the globe, and at our new commercial hub in London. Thats where the future of our franchise lie.

Leaving halfway through the season, something must be very wrong, we can only guess. I think we need to look at the coaches more critically than Dr Zak. We have 120 mil of players and they still play like strangers and we're  halfway through the season and sitting in mid-table position.

Rodgers looking to create his own little fiefdom.

Carra, Agger, Pepe, now Stevie all gone.  Zaf out the door too.

No one allowed at the club with a bigger cock than Brendan.

I guess fingering Sturridge's ass was not the solution to his thigh injuries.

It's hard to tell that when he has barely played. Only 2 or 3 starts to his Chelsea career so far. I do doubt that there would a problem as such with him though.

You've got to be joking, that is shocking. No wonder we struggle to make progress.

Does anyone remember a couple of years ago when some pundit/player/manager said something along the lines of "there is just something wrong at Melwood, you go there and the atmosphere is depressing, everyone looks glum" etc etc?

I think it was in reference to some potential transfer, and whoever said it was trying to discourage the player from coming to us because it was a demoralizing place to be or something.

Tried googling it but couldn't figure out who it was.  anyone remember?

Anyway I remember everyone ridiculed him at the time but considering everything that is going on as of late it might have been more accurate than we originally thought.

Zaf didn't do the medical though. We had a yank do the first one and then a specialist second opinion. Harder to get medical insurance over there.
