That game really depends on how much Jose still hates us and how much he gives a sh*t about CC, I still think they are to strong for our defence though, especially over 2 legs.

      Chelsea can be got at.
They play a very rigid system of 5 defensive players, 1 link man and 4 attackers, 3 of whom are expected to defend as well.
Isolate Matic, and it all starts to fall apart for them.
Of course isolating Matic is easier said than done.

In the league we need 12 points really to start making up ground on the top 4. I'm going to predict that we get 13 dropping points to Southampton with a frenetic 3-3 draw where Sturridge bags his first hattrick.
The Chelsea match is tragically cancelled as Mourinho, after being baited one too many times by journalists, drives the team bus into a lake injuring the entire team. We get a bye. Mourinho, from a mental ward, calls it a media conspiracy against his team.

My magic 8 ball is oddly specific today.

It's always hard to predict when we're going to lose when looking at fixtures in this way. We seem to be doing well recently against Spurs, Everton can't buy a win and Chelsea seem too strong for us at the moment. I watched Besiktas vs Spurs and they were poor, no reason we can't or won't progress into the next round of the Europa League.

We will beat Villa, they are sh*te. And they are asking for trouble if they come out and attack us, we will hit them on the counter and score goals for fun there.

Unfortunately I can't see Brendan beating Mourinho over two legs and I actually think we will lose both games.

      We'll beat Bolton.

      We'll beat West Ham.

We should beat Everton but I think they will scrape a draw against us.

      We'll beat Spurs.

      We'll beat Besiktas.

Can't see us getting anything at Southampton. Never thought I'd ever say that I don't think a Liverpool team will get a result at Southampton. We need to be at our very best and with it being in between two Europa League games which I think Brendan will focus on, I just can't see us getting anything there.

I think Besiktas will beat us at their place but hopefully we've killed the tie at Anfield by then anyway.

As Brendan said himself, this is the business end of the season. We need to start winning our seemingly easier fixtures, especially when you consider that the teams around us are dropping points at will. Achieving a top four position is not that difficult. Winning the premiership is (as we proved last season).

Consolidating a top four position needs to be our priority. I still think that we can take the mancs, le arse or Southampton. We just need to show it. We are showing more defensive organisation, now just need to be more clinical in attack. Despite a good performance against Sunderland, we really needed to put the game to bed. Hopefully when Sturridge is back, burying our chances will be the case.

Don't need to fear Chelski at all, I've watched them closely and they are certainly beatable. Yes, on paper they are better but their weakest link is in their defence. I'm sure maureen knows that.

The way they play is their midfield will try as far as possible to prevent the opposition players to get near to their defence and as soon as the opposition players are able to do that they'll panic as not too many teams gave their defence a torrid time.

Forget about those high balls into their box, they have all 6 footers defenders, play the ball on the ground into chelski's box and they'll be in trouble and certainly beatable.

Thats the sort of post I need to read...

Isolate and get in behind Matic, and they are fu**ed.

I was very impressed on Tuesday at the way BR had Moreno pushed right up on Ivanovic to keep him quiet.
It also isolated Willian, and led to him having a very quiet game.

You sticking to those scores now mate, only there's quite a few draws that we really need as wins?

Mourinho played with 2 DM's on tuesday, and we still tore through them.

If he plays a weakened side with only 1 DM, I think we'll go through if we can play with the same intensity we showed at Anfield. Obviously, we need to turn more of the chances into goals though.

I know you were mate and you're probably right about pens next week but we're playing so much better now than we were when you posted those predictions so we should take more points.  Let's hope so anyway.

      Not sure.
Might be ready for chelsea, might not.
I can't see him starting, but if fit enough he should get half an hour or so.

Think the main thing now, is to get back to winning ways at Anfield on Saturday against fat Sam's West Ham and move on from there. A decent win will do the team a power of good in the chase for a top four place.

10 points from a possible 12 in the league? I'd gladly take that, especially considering Southampton is a tough ground.

This isnt a gimme... probably the best West Ham team to visit Anfield in many years... I think is 1963 since thier last win away to us.

Im from West Ham, live in Essex and work in East London and there are alot of confident Hammers down here...

It means I will be under house arrest for a week but I hope we smash 'em!

all our must win games in the prem but its how we approach them which has been a downfall of ours. we sometimes have gone into games looking like we've already won and not had the intensity that we should have had. Southampton should not be a better side than us with the amount we've spent. We need to go into every game like its a cup final that's how winning is done.

Swansea away looks the toughest to me. We haven't won there since they've gained promotion.
