Pre Match - Bolton v Liverpool Weds 4th Feb 7:45 KO
      Feb 01, 2015 10:07:46 pm
With who is left in this competition a win here could be vital In our hunt for a trophy this season.

I'm guessing a few will be rested and hopefully the ones who come in will continue to thrive in our side.

      Mignolet

      Johnson
      Skrtel
      Lovren

      Markovic
      Henderson
      Allen
      Moreno

      Gerrard (c)
      Lallana

      Borini

Subs: Ward; Manquillo, Enrique; Rossiter; Sturridge, Balotelli, Sinclair.

Be nice to see Rossiter come on, as well as young Sinclair getting some reward for his fine form in the U18's team this season, and Studge getting some more time to help him get back his fitness.

I'm guessing Can, Lucas, Cou and Sterling will be rested ahead of the Everton game at the weekend.

0-3 LFC - Hendo, Gerrard and Markovic with the goals!

Hendo, Lucas, Can, Sakho, Sterling and Coutinho deserve a break - and keep them fresh for the derby!

      Mignolet
      Johnson-Skrtel-Lovren
      Markovic-Gerrard-Allen-Moreno
      Borini-Lallana
      Lambert

But I'm guessing at least 5 of them would start..!!

We can't afford to rest too many players, we couldn't beat them at home so we most certainly can't underestimate them away.

I think he will start Sturridge and give him a good 45min, probably alongside lambert or ballotelli. i would start the strongest team we have try and win it in the first 45 min then take off key players 2nd half if we are comfortable

I think we'll see some changes to the side, but probably not too many. Gerrard will likely start, and wouldn't be surprised to Lallana and Lovren as well.

Rossiter is injured, Ankle injury, Sinclair had a dead leg 2 days ago so probably no bench for him either.

It should be a fairly strong line up - Enrique, Manquillo and Allen really put us out of balance and cohesion with their dreadful performances in the first leg.

We had a slow start against West Ham - was that intentional to save energy? we didn't seem to be making runs forward, there was a lack of movement in that first half and it was just pass back after pass back. A different team in the second half, is this tactic that will be employed more with the games coming thick and fast? Its dangerous as we're not playing to win at times in the match, but it might have to be essential what with the run of fixtures.

We need to put a strong side out for this one. They are going to be really fired up and wanting to knock us off. I think Sturridge should come on at half. He seems fit and ready to go, and really the team that I saw when he came on looked incredible. I think BR will put out a good lineup. He's all about the whole we need to win something in order to kickstart a 5 year run of success so I think he will do that.

      3-1 victory . Sterling, Hendo, & Sturridge .

Need to be strong in the tackle early on and get the ball to Coutihno as he will unlock them..
We need physical players in there , Gerrard, Enrique, Lucas.. Show them we want this Trophy !..

If BR fanny's about with Allen, Markovic and Lallana in midfield we won't have the strength we're gonna need..

It's an FA Cup replay away.. Don't F**k about!!

Never mind about the up and coming Derby let's rip this lot apart first !!..

I'd play Gerrard behind Sterling, leave Lucas were he's been playing well..and if we need him Sturridge in the second half...

Games like this we need to shut the crowd up like we did at Wimbledon with an early goal and shut Lineker and Shearer up in the studio !!

      2-0

Anyone think that Stevie will get a rest and get his 700th against Everton at the weekend? I kind of do.

                                Mignolet

                      Skrtel     Can      Lovren

              Manquillo  Lucas Henderson  Enrique

                       Lallana Balotelli Allen

Mind you, this is just what I predict the lineup to be, not necessarily what I want it to be.

Same X1 that eased past Hammers for me , I'd keep the G man for his last derby match , think he's got a tight hamstring do a few more days rest would help ,

      Don't really want to
Change things too much if at all, we can rest players later when the Europa kicks off again but asking players to play twice a week isn't to taxing IMO ,

I would say we have a better chance of bagging the FA cup rather than Europa league so for me emphasis should be the FA cup,
Especially when a few big guns failed last round, let's give the Trotters the trots by sending out a full side and put them to the sword , last thing we need is to go out and end the chance of a final visit to Anfield south for our captain fantastic .

I have a feeling if Studge plays it will be for 20 minutes, with the blueshites coming on Saturday I can see Brendan not rushing him to much.

And that would be the right move IMO. No need to rush him back and risk aggravating the injury.

Wouldn't change a thing for this one. Most of our lads are young so 3 games in a week shouldn't be an issue. Bring Stevie back in for the derby.

This all day long for me.
Always start with your strongest side. Get the game won, then and only then, make any changes to rest players. The same 11 starting every week when possible, build an understanding through the side. Disrupt that at your peril.
