I don't trust this lineup so much, the defence gives me headaches and the midfield with Allen Lucas and Hendo is very dull to say the least, we need to be more creative there while playing at home, i would rather take off one of Allen or Lucas, and play with 1 more striker.

i would love to see us play 2 up top but for some reason BR wont do it now Suarez has left, we are not scoring goals so simple answer would be to stick more strikers on the pitch. lets hope we see the Mario Sturridge combo that looked like it worked v Spurs

two issues for BR in my eyes is does he bring Mario back into the side as to be fair to the lad he's not had a fair crack at it,yes he was lazy at the start but when he's had his chance he seems to work hard. i want to see two strikers on the pitch.

It also seems strange that the manager criticised Balo  in front of the media after scoring some game winning goals. It's not as though Sturridge has been great since coming back yet he gets away with walking round half the time. We have 4 strikers, why are they not being used? I simply don't think Brendan knows how to utilise a whole squad properly so I expect to see the same line up apart from somebody at the back for the injured Sakho.

I think Balotelli  deserves a run as he does not appear to have had a fair go. Admittedly he was crap early on in the season but then the whole squad was no better. We have got to get in the habit of winning and anything less than beating Newcastle will not do.

Push Can into midfield with Hendo and play Coutinho behind Sturridge and Balotelli.

Johnson did well in the last game, and with Can back, I think we'll go back to a 3-man defence.

      Mignolet
      Can-Toure-Lovren
      Johnson-Hendo-Lucas-Moreno
      Coutinho-Sterling
      Sturridge

But I guess everybody likes to see this diamond

      Mignolet
      Johnson-Toure-Lovren-Moreno
      Lucas
      Hendo  -  Can
      Cou
      Studge-Sterling

Same personnel, just positions altered. Guess the boss can decide based on how the game unfolds.

I dont think Sterling played the last game like he doesnt care. He was one of the best players and infact offered more threat than our main striker.

Balo was Ill for Cup game, and has been carrying niggles or knocks, otherwise I think he would have played. Bit strange he played 45 mins in the friendly though.

I would stick with the same back 4 as against Blackburn and replace Allen with Can.

                             Migs

          Johnson toure   Lovren  Moreno

                             Lucas

                             Couts

Well if we can't beat this lot then we are struggling, easily the most out of form team in the league, nothing to play for and an unproven manager who will be fired at the end of the season.

Saying that we aren't exactly on fire. I would take another 1-0 win as we don't score many goals...

Holly crap,we better put a couple of poles in the box and hope for the best if thats the defence available to us.We are not playing agaonst the top team but that defence is not giving me aby confidence and also we need to bounce back from two PL defeates and a wobly FA cup victory.I am hoping for the best,we should get a vitory here no questions asked.

I think it's clear that Rodgers doesn't like him and is unwilling to give him a chance in a position that plays to his strengths. Which begs the question on why he signed off on him in the first place. Total waste of a buy and not the lad's fault.

I think that's part of the debate going on in a few threads. Brendan clearly wanted Sanchez, Remy, and even Eto'o first IIRC, but we ended up with Mario. My guess is it was a situation where it was either Balotelli or nobody.

And the really good news is that Ibe is back in training, looking spectaculor according to Brendan and will be available for Monday

He really made our 343 tick by being a constant attacking threat, pinning the opposition fb in their own half and helped release Can more often.  Marko was much better on the left than the right and he helps out better defensively than Moreno.  It also means Hendo goes back into the middle and drops Allen/Lucas to a rotation role and hope neither pick up further injuries.  It means the whole team moves up a few metres to play a higher line so Studge isn't so isolated up top.

If he starts we might actually get to see some quick flowing, exciting football again  ;D

Try the mad b***ard upfront with Studge with Coutinho and Sterling in support.

Really need the win here to keep top 4 alive.

Balotelli is finished at this club how do you not realise this? We likely won't see him on the pitch for us again and rightly so. All Balotelli is doing here is taking the piss like he has at all his previous clubs. How was it ever going to be any different here? I don't even Balotelli for this he is who he is, I blame the muppets who thought his signing was a good idea to begin with. What F***ing planet are they on? If Carroll and Balotelli aren't proof that panic buys never work I don't know what is!

Holly f**king sh*t,he is by far the worst defender we have.He in a game against Arsenal created two 1 on 1 chances for them,he was awful. He is slow, doesnt know what to do with the ball under pressure,he panics a lot,he is awful.Sakho invented football for him.

He was very bad against Arsenal agreed. He isn't a bad defender though. He isn't worse than our fullbacks but he is the worst of our CBs.

I would still have him ahead of Borini and Lambert.

I do think he will be off in the summer though.

With City in free fall there is a glimmer of hope still alive, looks like their players have given up knowing Pellegrini will not be at the club next season.

Just need a win to keep the pressure on Shitty.

      Gotta win this one whatever.
If we don't play 2 up top for this, I'm afraid I'll start to question Brendan's ability and possibly his sanity.
Surely he won't go with two DMids against this sh*te at home ?

I agree bu the problem is that Rodgers *DOESN'T* want to play two upfront. It would bring out the best in him and Sturridge (who btw is not looking good since his comeback apart from the two goals).

If Ibe is fit to start, I guess we could see 3-4-2-1 again with Markovic on the left.

      Ibe-Hendo-Lucas-Markovic
      Coutinho-Sterling

Well, the Scum have handed us a lifeline that i didn't think we'd get. As long as this is still possible we have a chance.

I'm expecting us to tonk them tonight, they are on a terrible run of form and we must go for the throat.

      I'm thinking 5-0 here.

      Good luck Redmen.

Want to see Studge and Balo form a partnership for the remaining games to show us what we've potentially missed out on all these months. Ibe and Sterling wide where most effective, causing chaos and getting decent balls into the opposition box. Regardless, home win but hard fought. 2-1.
