I would stick with the same back 4 as against Blackburn and replace Allen with Can.

                             Migs

          Johnson toure   Lovren  Moreno

                             Lucas

                      Can            Hendo

                             Couts

                     Raheem      Sturridge

Should be enough to beat the Toon at home considering they have all but given up for the season now that they are safe.

      That's how I'd go.

Well if we can't beat this lot then we are struggling, easily the most out of form team in the league, nothing to play for and an unproven manager who will be fired at the end of the season.

Saying that we aren't exactly on fire. I would take another 1-0 win as we don't score many goals...

Holly crap,we better put a couple of poles in the box and hope for the best if thats the defence available to us.We are not playing agaonst the top team but that defence is not giving me aby confidence and also we need to bounce back from two PL defeates and a wobly FA cup victory.I am hoping for the best,we should get a vitory here no questions asked.

I think Balotelli  deserves a run as he does not appear to have had a fair go. Admittedly he was crap early on in the season but then the whole squad was no better. We have got to get in the habit of winning and anything less than beating Newcastle will not do.

I would be surprised if he did after this.

I think it's clear that Rodgers doesn't like him and is unwilling to give him a chance in a position that plays to his strengths. Which begs the question on why he signed off on him in the first place. Total waste of a buy and not the lad's fault.

I think that's part of the debate going on in a few threads. Brendan clearly wanted Sanchez, Remy, and even Eto'o first IIRC, but we ended up with Mario. My guess is it was a situation where it was either Balotelli or nobody.

Obviously not impressed with the defensive line up available, apart from Toure. Lets just hope the forwards hit the target, Monday night and register a much needed win.

Holly f**king sh*t,he is by far the worst defender we have.He in a game against Arsenal created two 1 on 1 chances for them,he was awful. He is slow, doesnt know what to do with the ball under pressure,he panics a lot,he is awful.Sakho invented football for him.

And the really good news is that Ibe is back in training, looking spectaculor according to Brendan and will be available for Monday

He really made our 343 tick by being a constant attacking threat, pinning the opposition fb in their own half and helped release Can more often.  Marko was much better on the left than the right and he helps out better defensively than Moreno.  It also means Hendo goes back into the middle and drops Allen/Lucas to a rotation role and hope neither pick up further injuries.  It means the whole team moves up a few metres to play a higher line so Studge isn't so isolated up top.

If he starts we might actually get to see some quick flowing, exciting football again  ;D

      Is Balotelli back?

Try the mad b***ard upfront with Studge with Coutinho and Sterling in support.

Really need the win here to keep top 4 alive.

Balotelli is finished at this club how do you not realise this? We likely won't see him on the pitch for us again and rightly so. All Balotelli is doing here is taking the piss like he has at all his previous clubs. How was it ever going to be any different here? I don't even Balotelli for this he is who he is, I blame the muppets who thought his signing was a good idea to begin with. What F***ing planet are they on? If Carroll and Balotelli aren't proof that panic buys never work I don't know what is!
