Also that the boss selects players that actually deserve to be in the team which will make it hard to select a full 11 based upon that criteria.

Is what I would play, I guess with SG' last match he will start (Think I would just tell Couts to take a breather) but Balotelli, Sterling don't even make the bench for me.

I have absolutely no interest. This is the first time ever that I have felt this way.

Going for a 1  1 draw, in this end of season game. Although not expecting much, Stoke always difficult to beat, at the best of times. The way we are playing not at all confident, play a few youngsters, at least they may put some effort into the game.

I actually think this is a pretty big match, massive in many respects particularly for the manager. Win it and we're fifth, lose it and I think I'm right in saying we could be seventh. Win it and we'll look back on a poor season with the consolation of at least knowing it's only the big four spenders who've finished above us, lose it and we could be behind Southampton. Win it and Summer will be warmish with sunny intervals, lose it and it'll be a long three months of bickering and trying to hold a big willy contest in arctic conditions.

Gerrard obviously has to play, and me I'd play Sterling as well. I'd get a bit radical and put a right back in at right back, but other than that this game as always will be won and lost by whether we have enough desire. They will, whether or not we can match them will swing it one way or the other.

You seem to forget how physical Stoke play at home, it would be a risk playing with youngsters.

Quite a lot riding on this game.  Big difference even if only in perception from finishing 5th and 7th.

Personally I wouldn't play Sterling - both on what's happened but more importantly on form - lad has been f**king useless in the past two months.  I also wouldn't start Gerrard - we've had a horrible run of results when he has started games and I do think it impacts upon the team. 

No problem bringing him on for the last 20 but sooner or later we have to face up that he is going and to be honest the last few months of the season should have been used to think about Liverpool's future and not embark upon the longest farewell tour in history.

Give one or two youngsters a game - you never know they may do something and give us a small bit of hope over what is likely to be a dire summer.

It's hard to work up any enthusiasm for this one, but I'll give it a try. Hope he doesn't play Sterling, firstly because he doesn't deserve to pull on that shirt ever again, and secondly if he is to be sold, and I believe he will be, then we just cannot afford him to get a bad injury against a physical side like Stoke!

Whilst 5th place isn't where we want to be in the league, 6th or 7th will be even worse so we have to win this one. Not bothered about what formation gets used as long as 1) Can doesn't play right back 2) Johnson doesn't play 3) Sterling doesn't play as a striker (or at all) 4) We don't play Gerrard in a 2 man midfield.

I think there is more on this game for Brendan than perhaps he thinks. If this team surrender to a physical side like Stoke we  could take a bit of a beating then Brendan will have to answer some very uncomfortable questions in Boston.
A good win could save his job and bad defeat could spell the end now I wonder if the players now this???.

F**k it. Play Stevie as the striker. His final game, he knows how to score and he won't have to marshal the middle of the park, which is probably the hardest role in football.

Competing teams make money out of the EL too you know. Pretty sure the financial difference between winning the CL to the EL is not that great. In fact, getting into the group stages of the EL is around 30m euros I read somewhere the past week.

This season can burn the feck off. Such a let down when only 2months ago the end of season looked to be setting up a for a fierce finish for the top 4. Teethered out and is a bag of sh*te now.

I'd play Ibe in the hole (get down Mick McCarthy!) buzzing around Lambert and in front / alongside Coutinho.

I'd start Gerrard and bring him off in front of the travelling Kop with 10 to go - replacing him with Raheem.

mate what an opener, yeah I'm interested coz it's the last game of the season regardless of how terrible and nearly relegated status we seem to be in, gauging fan outrage on here in the last month you'd think that was the case. I'm more realistic and less precious about the overall greatness of the club since the golden times.
Could easily lose right now but my prediction is a 3 or 4 nil romp by us. Even on a windy and rainy blustery day at the Brittania.

Not one to ever do a Team up but this is the Team I'd like to see out there tonight.

I've gone for a 3-1 win to us but that's my heart doing its usual sh*t, my head's got the scoreline in reverse. Personally I'll be glad when the final whistle's gone and we can kiss this season goodbye, truly forgettable.

Send Sterling to Jamaica, wish we had the financial umpf to just drop him to reserves next season, take a note out of City;s book with Scott Sinclair. We shouldn't accept less than 60mill from an English competitor or 50mill from abroad (its what 180K per week players are worth).
All our strike force should be transfer listed as soon as the 90 minutes are up.
Johnson should be handed his final salary as a cheque brought out to the pitch, so the away fans can all give him a wave.

Feel bad for feeling this as its Stevie's last game in English football, but I just cant wait for this season to be over. This summer just needs to be a clear out. We have so much dross out on loan which will be coming back looking for pay outs. Whoevers in the backroom staff should be asking 1 question. Will every player we are paying thousands of pounds for each week have a place in the starting 11, if not get rid, and replace with youth gambles if we haven't the cash to actually pay for anyone who is half decent and has any professional experience.

I havent seen anyone on the forum pick him and on other sites his name is mud. Now the question is what will Brendan do and I tend to agree with you that he may well start I guess we will know soon enough.

Personally wouldnt have Sterling anywhere near that team today , but I think BR will start him , its a fckin sad day when one cant get pumped for a lfc game , so much has gone on lately that cant wait for the season to be over .

I expect whoever BR chooses to play in Gerrard's last stand to play with passion & desire and give everything they can for their skipper, I would hope that they recognise that they will never experience again the privilege of playing alongside such a legend,
I can envisage Stevie playing 85 final minutes and hope the Stokies give him the standing ovation he thoroughly deserves,

We need to win this not just for Stevie but for the Europa league next season, lose and it could spell the end for Brendan,
