Whilst 5th place isn't where we want to be in the league, 6th or 7th will be even worse so we have to win this one. Not bothered about what formation gets used as long as 1) Can doesn't play right back 2) Johnson doesn't play 3) Sterling doesn't play as a striker (or at all) 4) We don't play Gerrard in a 2 man midfield.

I think there is more on this game for Brendan than perhaps he thinks. If this team surrender to a physical side like Stoke we  could take a bit of a beating then Brendan will have to answer some very uncomfortable questions in Boston.
A good win could save his job and bad defeat could spell the end now I wonder if the players now this???.

F**k it. Play Stevie as the striker. His final game, he knows how to score and he won't have to marshal the middle of the park, which is probably the hardest role in football.

That will be our undoing.

Anyways, 3 points is a must as we need to be playing European football.

The Europa League is an arse ache of a competition. Most teams struggle to balance it with their league form... plus look at our form from last season/title challenge, all the result of NO European football.

Competing teams make money out of the EL too you know. Pretty sure the financial difference between winning the CL to the EL is not that great. In fact, getting into the group stages of the EL is around 30m euros I read somewhere the past week.

Think they did improve the EL money from this season.

Over in the inlaws for dinner at 4. This would never have been allowed happen last season.

This season can burn the feck off. Such a let down when only 2months ago the end of season looked to be setting up a for a fierce finish for the top 4. Teethered out and is a bag of sh*te now.

Just hope he doesnt start Johnson or Lambert.

I'd play Ibe in the hole (get down Mick McCarthy!) buzzing around Lambert and in front / alongside Coutinho.

I'd start Gerrard and bring him off in front of the travelling Kop with 10 to go - replacing him with Raheem.

Let the little bugger appreciate the difference between achievement and potential....

mate what an opener, yeah I'm interested coz it's the last game of the season regardless of how terrible and nearly relegated status we seem to be in, gauging fan outrage on here in the last month you'd think that was the case. I'm more realistic and less precious about the overall greatness of the club since the golden times.
Could easily lose right now but my prediction is a 3 or 4 nil romp by us. Even on a windy and rainy blustery day at the Brittania.

Not one to ever do a Team up but this is the Team I'd like to see out there tonight.

I'd be happy with that team dude. it'd be interesting if anything.

I've gone for a 3-1 win to us but that's my heart doing its usual sh*t, my head's got the scoreline in reverse. Personally I'll be glad when the final whistle's gone and we can kiss this season goodbye, truly forgettable.

Don't bother giving game time to those that won't be here next season (Stevie the exception).
Send Sterling to Jamaica, wish we had the financial umpf to just drop him to reserves next season, take a note out of City;s book with Scott Sinclair. We shouldn't accept less than 60mill from an English competitor or 50mill from abroad (its what 180K per week players are worth).
All our strike force should be transfer listed as soon as the 90 minutes are up.
Johnson should be handed his final salary as a cheque brought out to the pitch, so the away fans can all give him a wave.

Feel bad for feeling this as its Stevie's last game in English football, but I just cant wait for this season to be over. This summer just needs to be a clear out. We have so much dross out on loan which will be coming back looking for pay outs. Whoevers in the backroom staff should be asking 1 question. Will every player we are paying thousands of pounds for each week have a place in the starting 11, if not get rid, and replace with youth gambles if we haven't the cash to actually pay for anyone who is half decent and has any professional experience.
