bringing him in would make me look forward to August... although Im happy with Milner and Danny Ings, it doesnt tickle me with excitement!

I had no idea we were strongly linked with Tevez, I'm staying away from transfer gossip search stuff this summer. When he fell out of favour at Man City I wanted us to go for him because I thought we could've got him at a bargain price and I was always a fan of his abilities.

It'd be ideal really even now, he'd give that bit of flair that would warrant the big signing tag, then fans wouldn't get on the case of less glamorous names. The only other player that may be buy-able up front that I'd put in this category is Higuaín, weird how many top class strikers are from Argentina. I wouldn't complain about Dzeko either.
Not sure if I'm getting lulled back into the fooling myself transfer train of thought here.

Hey you said this is based on confirmed transfers. Sterling is not confirmed gone yet. If we have him we would be foolish not to use him.

As things stand -

we have spent £100+ mill and don't have a team better than we did 2 seasons ago

and are now minus our only 2 world class players

Giving plenty of chances to Markovic and Can, don't see why people want Ibe to play as a RB, he would get torn apart.

Ok cool, I've been avoiding transfer articles, other than here where it's filtered and shown to have some substance. So they're at that stage? Thanks, I'll take these rumours seriously then.
Seems a bit decisive this transfer window, offers are transparent and it's out in the open, deals being made already, I like this version more than the shady last minute deadline day torture.

Have people honestly got Can at RB? He's a disaster there. Not meant to play the position and if he is put there next year, Rodgers surely hasn't a clue.

For me right now this is how I would play the team

Mignolet; Manquillo(Flanno if fit), Ilori, Sakho, Moreno; Can, Henderson, Coutinho; Sterling, Sturridge(ings until fit), Milner

Full backs over lapping and adding width, Lucas sitting, collecting ball from defence and feeding attacking players with Hendo primary supporting Lucas but with a license to attack (box-box), Coutinho as the roaming #10 , wide forwards as inside forwards with Ings/Origi holding up the ball and working the channels.

Neither, it's asking for our best XI and at present Sterling is in our best XI as a winger, but for me nowhere else on the field. So if we're playing wingers, Sterling and Ibe play. If we're not, then Raheem doesn't play.

I agree its his only position.

But he's going to leave, so he is just a price to me now... has no future at the club IMHO

This formation has lots of flexibility, you could call it a 4-1-4-1, 4-5-1 or even a 4-2-3-1.

Is Origi a striker? hes played alot on the wing and his goals to games ratio is really poor... according to the all seeing eye wikipedia, hes only got 16 goals in 89 games. I'm not hanging my hat on him to score the goals we need

Ings is slighty better at 58 goals in 173 games but only 11 of those were in the top flight

a mature striker of international class is the way out of the goaldrums for me
