Yeah,he wore shirts 28 and 17 but he is world famous with the number eight on his back. You are right about the hundreds thing although. But im gonna be upset if someone like Milner gets number 8,that would be pure rubbish.

      you are being sarcastic?

its a sodding shirt... i dont care if we are the first team to play in 3 figures on our backs, as long as we are competing I couldnt care less!

Shirt numbers do not mean much of anything anymore. I mean, Markovic wears No. 50.

I'd love to see someone turn out with 100 on the back. ;D

Actually Pear scratch me not caring less. The wilder numbers the better.

In Brazil it is not uncommon for players to wear silly numbers in commemorative games - for example, a player's 100th game for the club, he wears number 100...

It would need a set of exceptional circumstances for me to be wanting a shirt number retired. Never been a fan of it just because a legend wore it etc.

If they never retired Kenny's shirt why would the club retire anybody elses?

Retiring shirts is more a marketing gimmick than anything else.

I am surprised with yours mate.Where do you even get that idea?
Or are you over-emotional about Gerrard leaving.
Players retire, new players take their shirt numbers.

      Simple.
