Time to avenge Stoke and we will have a good Idea of where we are at by Christmas.
Well done Clint for your usual efficiency.

Playing all the rivals away first - very happy about that.

Rush mate you have just made Everton's day calling them rivals.

Tell you what given those fixtures, if we are in the top six by Christmas it will be an excellent achievement. Also, the odds on Brendan being sacked part way through last season must have been slashed.

There are NO easy games in the prem anymore them days of top 4 teams beating almost all the newly promoted teams or those that hang around the bottom half have gone. we treat each team with respect and dont go into games thinking they will be a walk over as to be honest last year we played just as bad as a bottom half team apart from when we got a good unbeaten run.
playing tough away games early is a plus as all sides are rusty so the top 4 teams wont be at their best and means its an even playing field, if we then get momentum and some form we have all the top teams to come to us which could work in our favour.

It's going to be interesting to see the doom mongering surrounding that list, it'll be dissected to the max with 10 weeks till the windows closes.

      Let battle commence!

March looks like a c**t of a month, could well make or break our season.
All the big guns away first, we'll need to get something from those games.

Have to say, there's this barely contained burning desire in me to go to Stoke and have sweet revenge on them.

This is nothing to do with 'what have we become when we see Stoke as a revenge mission'either', but everything to do with the fact that no one beats us 6-1 and gets away with it scott free

      Yikes.
Was thinking the fixture list looked ok til you pointed that out.
Still at least we get the toughest one out of the way first  ;D

Brendan straight back into the fire with that one - the team will need to make a statement. If they do it could kickstart us. If they dont, Brendan is under big pressure.

Getting to December in decent position is going to be tricky with those away ones, but if we can hang in there, December onwards ain't bad, especially the run in.

Jürgen Klopp likes that fixture list. :f_whistle:

It's almost like Klopp set it up to make himself look like a Demi-God when he comes in before Christmas.

Oh well, a chance to get back on the bike straight away I suppose.  We have to play everyone twice so order shouldn't really matter.

All this does is raise the importance of getting this Summer's transfer business right. So far it doesn't fill me with much confidence that this is the case when most of those teams are substantially strengthening in comparison to us.

My brother has just text me to say the number for tickets to Stoke v Liverpool is 616161. Hopefully Stoke are still on cloud nine after that score and we can take revenge!

We can only hope the players and manager feel the same way, given the gutless performance we had to witness.

some people already giving up and saying we are going struggle. forget last year its gone we move forward postive beliving we can beat anyone and get back into CL and actually play well in it and stay in the top 4 for next few years whilst building a solid hardworking squad that's not full of premo's who just want a payday

Is it just me that doesn't think they're too bad.  Ok we've got a few big boys early on and they're all away but our Xmas fixtures and the run in are relatively easy compared to the last couple of seasons.

I'm not too fussed by the fixture list, by Christmas we are all due to have played every team. The order we play them has some importance, only regarding confidence and momentum, but the fact is we have to play them all anyway, and early on does mean, on a points basis at least, there's not much between the teams, and an opportunity to get ahead.

In any case between the tougher games we have several easier ones too, unless we're worried by everyone?

Have to admit that my eyes lit up when I saw that first fixture.

I've kept my own council about that match, but I'm going to say now that it was a disgrace.
It's clear the players heads weren't right, but there's really no excuses for that first half performance.

I don't think they are too bad either mate.
We have to play every team twice, might as well get the tough ones out of the way first, and it will show us if this team has any balls.
