He will be 34 next Wednesday and next Wednesday I will be 24. I love Alonso so much. Yes I would take him now. He still has things to offer. I never had a bad injury so he is still fit.

I would have loved him to come back when he went to Bayern, but now I think it is better that we look to the future rather than someone turning 34. I am sure he could still do a job for us, but for how long? Better to bring in a top quality player reaching his prime, but a free Xabi may have more appeal than paying out £25 to 40 million for his younger equivalent.

Even if he lost all his ability in some Space Jam like mishap I would take him back, he doesn't even have to play... We could just admire him. :D

He's the type of player that the club were desperate for Milner to be IMO. All the qualities that Milner apparently has but so far fails to show more often than not, Xabi is capable of showing such qualities with his eyes shut.

      Yes! Please come back, Xabi.

He's the perfect holding midfielder for us.

Xabi in our current system... hmmm. I'm not too sure. I really don't think he has the legs for the pressing game that we've adopted under Klopp. Each player is running in excess of 7 miles a game and Xabi's no spring chicken.

Don't get me wrong, I'd take him back. But I feel he would be left out every other game, and I don't think he'd like that.

Never go back and not at his age. Lucas and Henderson will be a great partnership and Can is doing much better now. He will want top money and I would rather spend that on a younger player possibly a striker.

rumours of stalking by a certain former member were a reason for him going nothing to do with falling out with Rafa that was a smoke screen.
If he comes here I wouldn't be at all disappointed but I just can't see it happening sorry MissG

Yeah, I wouldn't complain too, but I think it's time for us to move on and find someone younger as you mentioned.

We are doing so well now with players who many thought were not good enough. Hell if he can make Lovren perform well as he did against CITY who else have we got who can come in and do a great job.

I'd love to see Xabi at liverpool again, but he can deal with the tempo in the German league - bit like Gerrard, can do well for 30 minutes but gets knackered for the rest and would probably be a player who could just sit in front of the defence like he did before, but nonetheless Xabi Alonso!!

Anyone at the club ACTUALLY thinking that wants sacking ASAP!!

Two steps ahead of everyone else in his head. Deals with the tempo just fine and everything Bayern does runs through him.

Nonsense. If he is still able to pull the strings for Madrid and Bayern then he would still be able to for us. A player like Xabi doesn't struggle with tempo because the type of game they play. It's not like Gerrard who spent most of his career surging forward and then his legs going and struggling to adjust to a new role he has never played much in. Xabi isn't dictated by tempo of the game, he is the one that sets the tempo.
