I am hoping to see a few 1st teamers tomorrow, hopefully.

I think we will mate which is the reasoning for Brendan only taking 16 players to Finland.

All the first teamers who stayed on will play tomorrow I reckon.

Unless you're already out there, having to travel into Europe for one friendly game, and then back to England again is not worth it

Didn't PHIL COLLINS fly from Wembley to New York , then get a chopper to Philadelphia  just to play one song all in one day in 1985,?  C'mon , i think a few athletes can sit on a plane for 2 hours, then play for 90 minutes. Nothing increases your fitness levels more than actual match time.

We are playing Swindon tomorrow so I imagine Benteke and Firmino needed some extra fitness training and will feature in the game tomorrow.

Personally, i can't see a few hours training being more effective than an actual game of football , against a team in the middle of their season.
And then to put them in against a team ( the very next day)  that are at  lower fitness level than ours, seems completely pointless.

But hey, i bet all the top european clubs will all be doing it next season.

      Read an interview from Helsinki.

In a nutshell, Rodgers said the likes of Firminho and Benteke especially aren't ready yet after joining the squad so late. And he isn't going to rush them either. He may not start them against Stoke either (we'll wait and see). Coutinho who also joined late has excellent fitness levels and is in fine condition.

      No word on Sahko though.

Would like to see us line up like this:

      Gomez, Skrtel, Lovren, Maguire
                      Milner
                Hendo     Ibe
                   Coutinho
                  Ings    Origi

Not particularly a fan of two #9s, but I'd be interested to see how it'll work with Coutinho behind them. Kinda disappointed to see the only DM specialist we have is a kid, so I think Milner might be our best bet to play as a DM. As for full backs, I want to see more of Maguire and we all know what Clyne can offer, so I'd play Gomez there.

What's the point of this friendly if we don't use the players who didn't play in Asia/Australia ?

I think the point of it is to give you a chance to moan.

i am very excited about this one, a chance to see some fresh faces mixed with our experienced players. reading into friendlies is a joke and you should feel bad if you're questioning centre half partnerships or anything right now. obviously, seeing as lovren sucks, he needs to play games. so we can get him to not suck.

Yep, said Brendan would go with Lovren despite so many saying he wouldn't. Looking more and more likely, as is the 4-2-3-1... where's my badge? :D

Seriously though Sakho appears to even some of the most staunch Lovren supporters to be the better player at the moment and deserving of his place in the XI, never been able to abide favouritism, pick on form then everyone knows where they stand.

Y'know you're excited for footy season when you're up at 2:30am for a friendly in Finland.

Can't wait to see little Phil running around. Hope he links well with the front 3. And also Joe Gomez getting another run.
