Good to see Lucas back in there, along with Can they should provide some defensive cover for the back 4 and the platform to launch attacks, very happy with that line up to be honest, even if it was enforced.

Personally I think far too much is made of this committee nonsense.

Brendan isn't going to cut his nose off to spite his face at this point in his Liverpool career and if Markovic isn't in the 18 then it's because the manager feels he has better options.

      Yup.

Let's look at the bench....who should Marko sit in front of? Ibe? (not likely) Rossiter? (only midfield sub)? Ings or Origi? Based on their pre-season form, they are probably both preferred to Marko at this point.

Pre game, Rodgers just said that Lucas is our best DM.

Would seem kind of odd to get rid of our best DM no?

Yes would be crazy unless he's replaced with a better DM.

Think barring Moreno on the left side of midfield that is the best we could probably set up tonight. I think it's an odd one as the two weaknesses in my opinon are the two defences. Going forward I'm confident we can cause them problems but I feel as it's Lucas' first game, Can not quite match fit, Firmino being pushed in after well documented shortness of full fitness and we're probably going to have serious troubles in the centre.

Get 3 points tonight and I'll be very impressed, come away with a draw and personally I'd be happy enough. Anything else is not good enough though, there's been too much talk that "even if we lose", that should never, ever be the attitude before the game from an LFC fan.

Sanchez worries me, a lot! As does the pace they could well bring on.

Very happy with the lineup we've chosen. Actually find myself questioning their selection though. Seems like Chambers and Gabriel in the center of defense for them. Benteke should be able to absolutely devour them physically. Good pace between them though.

Certainly an interesting choice, should be quite the match.

Well I'm going old school tonight and following the game on the radio, whilst doing the hipster thing of posting on here.

Pity I'll miss seeing Firmino in his first start and it'll be interesting how this midfield fares against the gunners.  I've gone for a 1-1 draw in the prediction league but I fancy us to win this.

f***in Buzzin, love that line up, no Koscielny, no Mertersacker, Wenger weakens his back line, I'm proper excited now, I could see us picking up points prior to the team sheets, but holy sh*t I'm proper confident now,

for me it's down to the battle of midfield, can we get the better of Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil and Coquelin, on paper they are more established and have more experience but one things for sure they hate the physical element and that's where I can see us getting the better of them,

Can their back 4 handle Coutinho, Firmino, and the beast?,

Still a tough encounter of course but I can see us bagging all 3 pts,

      1-2 Redmen

Was just thinking similar and I can see Benteke getting a lot of joy tonight and also with Firmino likely to play even closer to him than Phil has been I see us getting the better of those two.

Good team that, hopefully Lucas and Can both being in there gives us some protection and also allows Milner to break forward and join the front three.

We should honestly be bagging at least a couple of goals tonight looking at that Arsenal back four. Will it be enough to win us the game? Not sure, even if we defend well Arsenal are more than capable of putting a few past us. Even after looking at the line ups I'd still a take a point right now.

Chambers is 1,82m; Gabriel is 1,85m. Benteke is 1,90m. This could be good. Looks like we can exploit their weaknesses in the back, but there's no doubt this is going to be a tough match - they've got lots of quality going forward.

I am dying to see what Firmino can do from the off. Bit sketchy about Lucas coming in, has never started well after a lay off which this is as good as.

      Would take a point.

Hopefully James can captain the team to a great result.

Don't think Ibe and Lallana have done enough in the opening games.

Only right therefore that they are dropped.

      Can't disagree with that logic.

Lallana is injured JD but it would be interesting to know if he would have missed out if he was fit.

I'd guess he would have started if available.

The height isn't even the most important part. Benteke's got significant weight and strength over them as well.

This game is set up for Big Ben. He should dominate in the air again and link play from high up knocking balls down for Cou and Firmino to run on to.

We need Lucas and Can to be on top of their games stay concentrated and not give away silly fouls in dangerous positions.

I have faith both our full backs will play well.

Don't know what to expect from the centre backs as always but hopefully they are developing a good understanding together.

I'm going for a 1-2 win for us but a draw would be a good result too.

I've gone 2-1 to the reds but would settle for 0-0 and another clean sheet for Migs.

We could easily switch between 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 and a 4-4-2 diamond. Just hoping the attacking chemistry is effective enough tonight.

      I can´t wait for today's match.

Our household will be cheerful. -  My husband as an Arsenal supporter irritates me... (How is it possible that I am with him almost 30 years?!!)
I hope that at the end of the match I will laugh !
