No ordinary player can do that, cushioning the ball. How did we concede the free kick that led to the first goal, was it because of Mig's dilly-dallying?

Held onto the ball for F***ing ages and the ref quite rightly gave a free kick inside the area

Any idea about Coutinho and Sturridge injuries, is it keeping them out of Sunday's game?

Typical Mignolet, one moment schoolboy error, next moment world class save.

Coutinho's is a hamstring isn't it? He'll be resting that.

No idea who the other fella is.  Does he play for us?

      Great goal from Benteke.

      Mignolet has to go .

New spine needed in January starting with a GK   and then a CF for Sturridge .

Strange game really.. we won and i'm delighted..
Couldn't get our flow going throughout the whole game and a lot of that is down to Bordeaux's constant hassling us down when we had the ball.. a bit like the way we we're on Saturday..
We "coped" okay tonight but without that quality Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana combination we lacked penetration.
What I witnessed on Saturday is the way forward for us and tonight proved that we don't have the squad personnel to fill in and cover and replicate..

WTF was Mignolet doing?..... Holy Mother of God.... Get rid of the f**king thing  !!! :f_steam:

and WTF is wrong with Sturridge now?.. This is getting F**kin ridiculous ! :f_steam:
We need him on the pitch not on a f**kin ward...

We won and we're through.. thank f**k.. :)

At least we are through. A point at Sion wins us the group.

Heard it's not too bad but yeah I expect Klopp will have him on the bench at most.

Good performance! Was very good before and just after half-time, surprised I'm the only one (thus far) who voted Allen MOTM, glad we're through with a game to spare too!

      Thought Ibe played well again.

Agree. Solid performance from the lad.

Loved the pass he put through the two defenders closing on him.
      Class.

      Gave MOTM to Benteke.

So 3 people are clearly having devilish moments, 2 votes for Migs and 1 for Origi.
Migs does a poor impression of a goalkeeper (surely it's time for Adam Bogdan to be given a chance?)
Origi was on the pitch for less time than I take for a Brad Pitt!

Missed the game and just seen the highlights.

Difficult to tell how well we played but great that we're through.

Just curious as to what you saw so impressive out of him?

Personally thought he didn't add much value and that he honestly very rarely does. Just my honest opinion though, but definitely interested in what people see from him still.

Just watched the highlights and goals on YouTube.  Benteke is going to become an awesome player.  He's good already, works hard, and puts himself about with some menace, but that first touch to control the ball then unleash a powerful shot was fantastic.  I know he missed other chances in the game, but this guy is vy good.  If we have Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana  or Benteke Ings Sturridge that's a powerful attacking force. Vive la Reds!

I think we played well. The ref was terrible and i think that had a massive effect overall as the game was stop start.
Mignolet needs replacing but i think both Lovren and to a greater extent Toure had very good games considering that they are no longer 1st pick.
Allen needs to pass forward more. It's infuriating to see him constantly add pressure to our own defence.

No idea who to pick as m.o.t.m. no one really put in a top performance. Maybe Lucas or Toure?

Yeah same here. Guess I'll go for Benteke. Won a pen and scored a scorcher.

That final 20 was typical European football. Had the lead and shut the game down. Lucas and Toure very composed. Lovren and Mignolet, however, have the composure composure of crack addicts performing open heart surgery.

Hoping all the lads get a rest and we go again against Swansea. Fingers crossed Phil is back by then.

Do not forget that Benteke scored three times. Simon needs to be replaced, he is just a good shot-stopper.

      Well done Reds.

Cracking goal by Benteke, who had the ball in the net three times. Good to have qualification wrapped up, with a game to spare.

Great win to keep the momentum going, don't forget that Mings made some good saves at Etihad. The quality is there, he lacks concentration in some games.
