+1 for that. He's taken enough stick, so credit where credit's due.

Funny thing is, I had more faith that Migs would save 1 or 2 than I had in our takers to score....

      Well in Migs!!!

Mignolet deserves credit for his penalty saves, but the goal Stoke scored in normal time, although it was offside, it was right at him! from what I saw it went through his legs.

      Ward would've saved it.

You have to give credit where it's due no matter whether you like the player or not and he deserves a lot of credit for tonight. He was suspect on the goal but I don't think he put much of a foot wrong all night and to not only make the 2 saves but dive to the right side for most of them was good to see.

      Well done Migs!

So the other umpteen games didn't matter? I beg to differ. He did decent enough tonight with what he had to do. A better goalkeeper might do better for their goal though. He didn't do anything stunning and had he messed any of what he had to do up, he'd have been at fault because it was all fairly routine. Did well on the penalties though, so fair play to him.

That's what matters if you want to be a team that wins very little and certainly doesn't come anywhere near the league, sure. To challenge for leagues you need consistency. Doing well in a penalty shootout once in a blue moon isn't enough. If you want to win leagues every game counts and every game matters. If you're happy languishing in 7th or wherever we are at the moment and occasionally doing well in a cup, then yes, tonight is the match that counted and tonight is the match that mattered.

he could only do what he did tonight and that's good enough for most of us,We know his short comings but we must give credit when its due

I'm skeptical regarding Butland mainly because we've seen that type of keeper step up to a big club and fail in the past, but tonight should change no ones opinion on Mignolet.
