Do Villarreal in the semi's and then break Sevilla's hearts in the final!!

if we get to the final I am definitely going to the Doctors for some valium because we all know what happens in European finals.

Villareal recent results, not quite as intimidating at Dortmund was but this will not be easy by any means, but I still fancy us to win over 2 legs.

In summary its DLWLDDWWWW so fairly similar to us.

They're a very strong team this season. Will be tricky. They're the team I wanted to avoid.

Villarreal have been great in the league and Europe this season. I would have preferred Sevilla.

It seems everyone has a different opinion on this one. Must admit I wanted Donesk because the Spanish are so strong but the more I think about it the more I think this might have been the best option for us. Sevilla have an incredible record in this competition and Donesk is a hike. All of the ties would have been difficult so the most important thing was to have the 2nd leg at Anfield, particularly after last night.

So you are basing Sevillas quality on one game? Pretty sure they have 12 points less in the La Liga.

Sevilla have won one game away from home all season in any competition (the first leg of their Europa League quarter final at Bilbao was their first win) and are well off Villareal in the league.

They've lost 3 straight in La Liga and could miss out on Europe altogether next season.

I don't know if you noticed, the Villareal representatives looked a bit uneasy when they drew the home-leg first.

I think that win last night at Anfield sent shock waves throughout Europe.

Eh? I'd say that I'm one of the more positive people on this board especially when it comes to our own players - you can look through the threads about who we should sell and the various player threads to see this. I've also not said anywhere that I think we'll go out or I think we'll lose. All I've said is that I think it'll be a tricky tie and they're the team I didn't want to draw. Nothing wrong with that. Stop moaning.

Villarreal are 4th in La Liga, 12 points ahead of Sevilla who are in 7th.

Gonna have them in the final and two in a row is more than enough for them.

Not as good as Dortmund but with our defensive frailties we must show them all due respect.
If Jürgen makes a few tactical changes to our starting 11 and we don't invite the pressure that nearly saw undone last night, we stand a good chance of progressing.

Villarreal are a quality side. I can't say I have watched them many times but I did so on a few occasions. I mostly kept an eye on Cedric Bakambu, who looks a pretty damn good striker in my eyes and one I wouldn't have minded us targeting - although with the rise of Origi, not sure if he would be a priority. Soldado looks like a player reborn at the club as well.

I'm not concerned about any of the opposition, I'm concerned with our own team.  We have a tendency of making good teams look average only to follow up by making average teams look like world beaters..... 

As long as we can keep a clean bill of health, I like our chances to lift the cup this year and book our place in the CL for next term!!
