I'd like him to sue the fuckers, but I suspect UEFA will word things so that he is technically guilty on a non-illegal/banned substance.

I've seen some comments around the web of people saying this could've cost us the final but seeing as his replacement was arguably man of the match we should really put that to bed.

I agree Ian but it could have made a difference to our last 8 league games.

Good thing is we have another of our senior players staying for pre season, hopefully Studge will be another not going on International duty.

Did he loose any sponsorships over this debacle?

Wouldn't have thought so mate. They would probably have waited to see what the final outcome was first because if they had cut sponsorship deals with him, then with an outcome like this, it wouldn't have made them look good at all.

Difficult to say. Maybe he would've scored from a corner, maybe even an assist from a long ball? Would Can have played better with Sakho & Lovren behind him? How about Sakho covering Moreno's mistakes?  Guess we'll never know what could have been if we had Sakho playing.

Kind of feels like a new signing in a way. Think we were all expecting him to be missing for a large part, if not all of next season but it's not the case.

I know debs, it's just the final I meant. I've seen people saying we should be automatically put into the champions league because of it, I mean, let's be serious here, we lost the final based on being sh*t and not because momo was banned.

Now, the league is an entirely different matter but given the clubs stance as regards fighting just causes I won't be holding my breath.

I know mate.  As someone said about trying to fight UEFA, better to keep your friends close and your enemies closer.  It's really not worth fighting in this instance, we lost fair and square.

It is, he's like a new man, he's lost sh*t loads of weight. ;D

Except he hasn't because he thought they were banned. Will be back to shedding the weight now though ;)

Yup, via the trademarked sakho weight loss programme.

Ha that is pretty much what he looks like with the ball at his feet.

Would have sacked him if it had been down to some in here.

Anyway, UEFA have dropped their case against him.

The independent UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) met in Paris and has reached a decision relating to the proceedings instigated against Liverpool FC player Mamadou Sakho, following the UEFA Europa League round of 16 second-leg match between Manchester United FC and Liverpool FC (1-1), played on 17 March 2016.

The proceedings against Mr. Sakho related to a violation of the UEFA Anti-Doping Regulations after the player failed a doping test at the above-mentioned match. Following a hearing with the lawyers of the player and experts of the WADA-accredited laboratories on this case, the CEDB has decided to dismiss the case.

Exact same thing I was just thinking, he missed that European final game, and we needed him.

He also likely would have been starting for France at the Euros in front of Rami.  He will miss two finals (one a major international tournament played in his home country) because of a fluke failed drug test.  Can't help but feel for the lad....

The least they could do is stick us in the europa cup for this season, plus it's a money maker for them, for the use of flares every game.

I personally thought he fu**ed us too, but glad it was all a misunderstanding.

We can draw a line under it and move on.

Great news that it's over, but I still think Sakho was stupid to take the risk and not get it checked out first. He's certainly paid a heavy price for it.
