Bit of fun!

With our 1st pre season game happening on Friday, I thought we'd have a bit of fun guessing our starting 11 and 7 man bench for our first League game against ARSENAL.

Not as easy as it sounds with so many missing some of pre season and nobody knowing yet how our new players will fit in, nor do we know who may still arrive but that's why it's a bit of fun, rather than the serious line ups people do in the pre match threads.

Anyone posting the exact 18 correctly before 1ST AUGUST, I'll pay their forum subs for the year

I remember Gerrard saying that he text him one year asking if he'd be interested, very bold. I'd F***ing love it if we did sign him but I imagine there's only a handful of clubs he would go to and they're all in the champions league.

Tbh I think Madrid would be mad to sell him.

The bench was actually the hardest to come up with to be honest. Wanted to put Flanno in there, but figured Gomez might have an edge because he can cover CB as well. Also thinking there's a transfer or two that will throw that whole thing into flux (at least I hope so) and assuming Sakho doesn't get a ban

We're all guessing at this stage mate, that's the fun part really.

To counter your assertions though I think Flanno will be in there as I'm not sure Gomez will be ready.  He's not played for 10 months and only just returned to actual training after his injury but I guess this is Jurgens idea with having so many training matches in pre season.  Any of them could spring a surprise out of this group as none of them have had Internationals to recover from.

Do you reckon Markovic is gonna get a go under Klopp? I can't see him being a starter and that's even if he doesn't go out on loan.

It would be nice to have a ready made winger already in the squad but I don't think he's good enough.

if he can improve as much as Lovren he will be awesome his confidence was shot to bits I wouldn't mind seeing how he looks now.

I think he deserves a shot with Klopp's influence to guide him.

I think klopp will give him a chance to prove his worth to the team, would be unfair to get rid of someone without giving them a chance

I've went for Sturridge atop cos he is our main Striker, what message would be sent if he started from the bench?

We need to hit the ground sprinting so attack from the get go and push the goons back to their 18 yard line, OK I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, can't help it can't f***in wait,

Big mental debate over who partners with Emre, easily could see it being Grujic, Wijnaldum, or Hendo. Also was tough to keep Sakho, Lucas, Milner, Origi, and some others off the lineup, but just couldn't find the room for them and Big Mama seems to be on shaky ground right now. Also think we'll have a new LB by the start of the season, but can't be certain if so or who it would be.

Unbelievable amount of expensive players in our squad right now that can't even fit into that 18, and yet there's still 1-2 unaddressed gaps IMO - LB, DM(?). But all-in-all I'm happy with that 18, think Klopp should have no issue working with it, and hopefully we'll see some more sales on those worth a pretty penny who may not even get a look in - Benteke, Balo, Markovic, Luis Alberto, Ilori or Wisdom, Hendo or Milner, and maybe even more than that.
