Big day for Mainz with their stadium re-branded as the Opel Arena. Car company's HQ is nearby and Klopp has a sponsorship deal with them.

This really has to be the B team playing, would be nice to see Benteke get some minutes, hopefully score a goal to increase his value.

Sometime in the late 80's or early 90' s I believe ! We used to play Xmas day and boxing day or  new years eve and day if my memory serves me right !

well the fitness bods certainly had the lads firing yesterday so a bit of overloading today then 6 days rest and we will rip Arsenal apart next weekend

I think Jürgen is being really sensible with Danny Inngs after his injury. Markovic is unlikely to be here at the end of the month .

They both started together against Fleetwood.

In fact I think whenever Ings has been on so has Markovic in this pre-season.

Better team than i expected. More reason to look forward to this.

Best thing about playing the day after a big win against Barca is there's no time to soak it up. Back to work straight away.

It is wonderful that Matip is back to playing, we need him to show us what he can do to push Lovren and Klavan for their places.

You're probably right there but a part of me would like him to stay, he'd be a good utility player to have in the side.

Nice to see Sam Hart and Joe Maguire in the squad, both left fbs and young Kelleher though I doubt he'd get a look in.

Love it that we're playing twice in a short space of time. Love watching us play and I hate the waiting between games. Hopefully no more injuries though! Good to see Lovren on the bench.
