I love the 3-0 predictions on here, but to be honest a draw away to Arsenal wouldn't bother me a great deal. I think the first few weeks we just want to stay with the other contenders and it's during the Euro season where we can gain the most advantage and separation in the table.

But the firepower this LFC team has, 3-0 or 5-2 are definitely possible. Can't wait.

                                            Mignolet
                                Clyne   Lovren   Klavan   Milner
                                         Can  Henderson
                                   Mane Firmino Coutinho
                                             Origi

Mignolet - ideally would not be starting, but it's him or a pensioner
Clyne - has looked his usual solid reliable self, one of the good buys from SH
Lovren - is this the season he really starts to repay, hope so
Klavan - hard to believe we'd buy a guy for 4.2 mill and he'd be a likely starter vs. Arse away
Milner - reckon he'll go for his stubborn resistance, rather than the somewhat rash Moreno, at least initially
Can - go for experience, away, in big game
      Hendo - same as above
Mane - has looked really strong quick and sharp, hopefully keeps that going
Cou - think he'll start, though needs to up his form a bit, we know he can do it
Firmino - think he's done enough to start, though Lallana could push him hard
Origi - thankfully looks to be continuing end of last season for, with Studge injured, a lot resting on the young man

      Subs
Lallana - has looked decent in preseason
Wijnaldum - haven't seen that much of him really, maybe needs to grow into things
Grujic - looks to be handling the transfer well, impressive in his outings
Moreno - might need him if chasing a goal, that, or maybe just a run out when 3 up
Ings - needs to do more imo

Hassle the sh*te out of them from the start, play like vs Barca and no reason why can't win.
Settle for a draw now ?  Nah.

Doubt very much that Milner will play, he's injured.

Speaking of injuries, is Divock alright to go? I was under the impression he was injured but people are putting him in their line ups.

According to the echo, those injured are Studge, Milner and Grujic. I haven't heard anything about Origi.

Not a lot coming out about Danny hope its not another long term one , he is improving mind he almost completed a pre season which is good going compared to the last couple  :f_whistle:

Opening day games are so difficult to predict but what it will do, is give us an idea as to how we will set up, away from home,  against a top club.
It will be a bench mark as to how Jürgen intends us to approach our season so it's gonna be interesting to see if he goes with all out heavy metal football from the start, grab a couple of early goals and stay solid for the points or allow an open game with a gung ho attitude.. or do we go defensive and rely on quick blitzkrieg counter.
We defo have the personell in Origi and Mane to smash in a belter at any ground around the world it's whether we can tell Arsenal and the rest of the premier league we mean business this year..
      I've gone with a ;
2-0 up at half time then a cardiac second half trying to catch the kitchen sink conceding one but holding on for the 3 points..

It's all down to that giant they've got in goal and how well he plays...

Am I correct in thinking that the last time we played arse away on the opening day of the season was back in 87/88, when Barnes, Beardsley and Aldridge all combined on their debilit for the opening goal and we won 2-0 and then went in to win the league?!

So we're actually going into the season with Moreno at LB again. Incredible.  FSG need to take a long, hard look in the mirror.

FSG don't manage the team and its transfers, that's eh Klopp's job.

Did FSG tell the manager he couldn't buy a LB?

      You know that's not true.

The manager only has the last word on transfers.  He can't propose players.  He can only say yes or no before we make a move to sign or get rid of a player.

FSG provide the funds, and they've got two of their hacks (Ayre and Fallows) on the committee as well.

He (Jürgen), has got until Aug 30th(?) to decide on whether he buys someone..
Whether thats a replacement or a back up only time will tell.

Stop being silly in the effect of looking for a scapegoat other than Klopp about the team's LB position.

If Klopp wants a LB he will get one, if he doesn't then he doesn't deem it necessary.

Klopp wanted a new goal keeper - he got one.

Klopp wanted new central defenders - he got them.

Klopp wanted new midfielders - he got them.

Klopp sold a LB to Bournemouth (or whoever it was) - he sanctioned that.

Klopp hasn't got a new LB, it's all FSG's fault.  :lmao:
