If you look at the more reasonable numbers -- 1 to 25 -- I think 19 has to be among the worst.

I'm surprised we haven't had that many great No. 3s in the Premier League era: David Burrows, Julian Dicks, Bjørn Tore Kvarme, John Scales, Christian Ziege, Abel Xavier, Steve Finnan, Paul Konchesky, Jose Enrique.

It's a bit of fun mate.  Maybe that is a foreign concept to you?

#22 has had a poor representation.

Lee Jones who to be fair did have a lot of hype about him as a kid but never materialised - presumably due to the two broken legs he suffered in the reserves (and being up against Ian Rush and Robbie Fowler).

Danny Murphy - who I'm not sure if he ever actually played in 24, I only remember him in 13.

Diomede who's most memorable thing in a Liverpool shirt is having a goal chalked off for offside - mind you it was a cracking overhead against Sunderland.

Pongolle who I always liked and will be remembered fondly for Olympiakos but was actually rather sh*t for the vast majority of his Liverpool career.

N'gog who, like Flo before him, I always thought had something about him and will be fondly remembered for one goal - that one against United - but was actually rather sh*t for the majority of his Liverpool career.

And finally Joe Allen - who was just sh*t for the majority of his Liverpool career.

Or just having another butchers, try 27.

Three loanee keepers who never got off the bench - despite only having David James to displace - an Icelandic kid who never kicked a ball for us, Gregory Vignal and Philipp F***ing Degen.

13 is a bit drab with a fair few keepers. Murphy done alright in it but is joined by Anthony Le Tallec, David James, Tony Warner, Stensgard and now Alex Manninger

The 9 has had some whoppers. Diouf, Carroll, Aspas, Lambert, Benteke dragging it down from the likes of Rush, Fowler and even though hate to say it now, Torres.

Ian ayre will no doubt go for 69.

Loved Momo before his injury. Poor guy. And Titi's goal against West Ham (?) was a mix of emotion when i first saw it.

To be fair most of the [historical] greats wore 1 to 11 and there's not much depth attached to many numbers outside of that. Look at number 23 - only three players have worn it... all good 'uns btw.

Number 44 seems to be blinked; the kiss of death but for me, the 'most uninspiring' is my birthday... # 27.

The same is said for Bellamy, especially his first stint here. I just remember average. I don't know whether people hold Anelka higher because of what he'd achieved and who he'd played for previously and what he went on to achieve and play for later or just the fact that because we didn't sign him, we did get Diouf which makes people think of Anelka as some sort of saviour. But, I just don't remember him being that good for us.

And his goalscoring record for us isn't that good.

One goal in every five games for the League is a considerably worse ratio than Cisse and Benteke.

You could say 7 has had a bad number of players, actually probably more bad than good.

Still a kid though Billy, I'm telling you from experience of being at virtually every game and watching Anelka, he was boss for us and should of been bought. Which is why I mentioned his movement etc, end of the day at the time, Owen was our main goalscorer and he had a number of goals set up by Anelka. In fact two games I can definitely think of were the Newcastle game, when the floodlights went out before the match started and the Blackburn game, both evening games as well, were Anelka was probably man of the match in both games.

My judgement is always skewed by the fact that I look at how Anelka turned out and compare how that prat Diouf performed.
