Mark Halsey Q and A twitter storm
      Sep 03, 2016 04:51:30 pm
      Anyone else see it earlier?

They are basically talking about the decision to give Aguero a retrospective ban, City argued that the Ref Marriner must have seen it because he was looking right at the incident.

Mark Halsey just did a twitter Q and A basically saying the PGMOL often told referees to say they didn't see an incident, even if they did!

      Why is anyone surprised?

This has to be one of those things we all know goes on but only now has someone confirmed it.

      Also, why is Neville surprised?

He played for a side which received some of the most generous refereeing decisions (or lack thereof) in football history.

Its one of them where it's not surprising it goes on, but it is surprising that a referee has actually admitted it.

Be interesting  to see where it all leads to with the media all over it now.

Guarantee the mancs were the ones who benefitted most from this.

Still sticks in my throat some of the outrageous decisions they got back in 08/09, outright cheating and corruption it is.

Nothing will happen... Until at least the Manchester derby has finished.

No wonder Microphone head gets away with actual bodily harm on a weekly basis though.

F***ing fuckwits the FA and PGMOL basically having the power to dictate outcomes like this.

It must be bad for refs too being bullied to turn a blind eye to things. The sh*t they take during the match for missing/giving something... Then probably threatened with their job afterwards.

Roy Carroll clawing back a ball about half a mile over the goal line when Utd played Spurs at OT. Definite goal to even the naked eye, the ref didn't give it and Utd get away with another one.

In all honesty we got our fair share of "good" decisions when we were the top club in England, they just took it to a whole different level with Ferguson, especially after he got knighted. Same with Chelsea under Mourinho, they got a lot of questionable decisions go their way once they won the league.

Most refs want to referee the big games and be friends with the big name players and if it comes to the crunch they usually give the benefit of the doubt to the club that will be challenging for the title.

What we need is someone like Emlyn or Kenny always moaning or having a word with the ref.

how long have we been saying we don't challenge decisions enough we make the afternoon very easy for the REF. Its all part of the game now any advantage gained etc and lets face it Rooney has made a career of foul mouth rants at Refs and has had very little in the way of bookings or Red Cards.

This is something I do agree with, we are not a nasty at all, I mean Henderson is our captain for christs sake, the nicest guy in the league it seems!
