A bit complacent Hendo. A bit too easy for some they think, but what a tackle from Karius. Neur like.

To be honest Mignolet would probably have stood on his line just waiting for Bent to take the shot. Notable just how more advanced Karius's starting position is.

Firmino at the centre of most of our positive play.

Lucas probably the most incisive passer - it's the two of them that are impressing me most.

The balls to do that - there was no hesitancy or anything from him.

That instinct is what Mignolet lacks - too much overthinking, you can almost see him weighing up the pros and cons for any decision. It's intriguing to see Karius just do these things on instinct, like all goalkeepers should.

And that's why Karius is the better fit for us.

Excellent first half, we should be a few more up to be honest. Firmino and Henderson excellent, Coutinho much better, think we need more from Grujic and Divock who has been better but also just not quite good enough at crucial stages.

Exactly mate, you have to have confidence to back your instincts, the moment you second guess you're generally already 2nd favourite.

Interesting to hear Jürgen's words about German keepers and Karius in a recent interview, thought it was a good insight.

Nice little tester there for Karius on his debut.  Dealt with it well.

Good half.  Should be more. A fair number of chances but too many of them just off target.

Karius has been good so far. Lucas again shows what it's like to play with confidence and how to boss a midfield. Firmino and Mane are going to destroy teams this season. Origi will improve; we all saw how good he was last season.

I find myself in the unfamiliar position of actually having faith in the keeper. Makes for a refreshing change.

Some nice football that half. Completely dominating the game, just need to have our heads screwed on more once we've created the space. Karius, Bobby and Couts playing well.

Lets try to keep a clean sheet today!

I like how they're basically flooding the half that we'll be shooting towards but there's not a sprinkler in sight on the other half of the pitch.
